This game will get tons of protest reviews because of low framerate and the switch of modding from Steam Workshop to Paradox Mods.

While reading the reviews please remember this:

- This game has TONS of performance settings in game which you can and must use to improve performance. You also can adjust way more stuff than in other games and it's very beneficial for you to actually learn and understand what the settings do and how (much) they positively affect performance. (For me it's running at 40-50fps 4K high settings on 5600X/RTX3090 after tuning the advanced graphics settings.)

- Performance will improve over time, bad game design decisions will not. C:S2 has impeccable game design decisions behind it. The game is already just as playable as C:S1 and there's nothing but good things to look forward to in the future.

- The switch to Paradox Mods enables consoles to get custom assets too, not to mention code mods for other PC platforms. This is good because the more players have access to mods, the more mods and mod makers there will be overall and this will benefit Steam players too. Not to mention that Steam Workshop is not perfect either.

The game itself was super transparently shown before release and to anyone who doesn't know I hope this helps:

- It's better than C:S1 in every way except that it doesn't have 8 years worth of post release DLC and mods in it YET.

- It has far far more features than C:S1 had on launch and many of them are top community requested features.

- It's way more realistic in style and scale.

- The simulation is far deeper in all aspects.

- After watching countless hours of streamers and YouTubers playing it I haven't seen any crashes at all despite it being so new, complex and heavy to run, which speaks to the quality of it.

Make no mistake, this is a good game, no matter what the initial Steam reviews say.
