A 3-D Platformer game where you play as a little alien girl known as Hat kid, As shes trying to find her way back home on her space ship, She comes into contact with a member of the mafia to collect a toll from her after passing by their planet. Hat Kid refuses to pay and the mafia man bust the spaceships door causing Hat kid and her "Time Pieces", Which are magical hourglasses that power up her ship; To fall to the planet below. Your mission is to get back all the hourglasses back across different areas in the planet that are corrupted by the evil "Mustache Girl" and many other foes that appear in Hat Kids Journey. Gameplay is very similar to Mario Odyssey but with less hat variations but still unique in their own way. Each hat serves a purpose that will eventually appear as you visit the many areas on the planet. Some hats may be needed in a earlier level that may require to come back later once you found the Hat needed.
The many characters and foes you meet on the planet are memorable and full of personality, thanks to voice acting that was really well done. The biggest downside of the game is that its only 9-10 hours long (18-20 FOR 100% Completion) and leaves you wanting more. There are two DLCs that would take 4 hours to beat both and one multiplayer DLC that's basically one big game of tag, One team is it and the other team needs to get away while looking and collecting for crowns to win the game.
