Avorion has been quite the surprise. I stumbled across this gem while browsing through the store. The store page and the photos advertised by the developer really made me question whether it would be worth the $12 price at the time (being 50% off), but after some quick youtube searches, I decided to take the plunge. Of the past dozen games I have purchased, this is the first to really grab my attention. Having barely just entered the spiral of the galaxy, my journey is far from over. My fleet of now 4 ships is slowly making its way towards the center of the galaxy. Although my art skills are not the greatest, if the aesthetics is something you want then the workshop is the place to go. The editor is not to difficult to use but I am quite lazy. Even though I have yet to import ship designs from the workshop, I assume it will be useful to do so later on when cosmetics may be more important to me.

Overall, this is now one of my favorite games in my library. I've been wanting a game which just allowed me to be creative while I carve my own path. Games like Kenshi offered similar experiences but Avorion feels far more polished with multiplayer support. Science fiction and space also makes this game an easy plus to me! I would definitely pay full price for this game!

Give it a go! Perhaps we can play together
