In most JRPGs you start by doing menial chores and end by Killing A God. In Suikoden you start in a Tyranny, and you rise up and overthrow it. What a great lesson about civic responsibility.

Its got basebuilding, its got missables, its got limited inventory space, its got customizable character growth, its got old school hand-painted backgrounds. Its also got Flying Squirrels.

It does not have Ducks, which is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shame, but Duck characters weren't introduced until Suikoden 3.
