Castlevania Lords Of Shadows, a Castlevania Reboot, is a good game with a good story that shines through some of the games not so pleasant mechanics and bugs. Even though it's my first Castlevania game, I can confirm that, while it might not have as big of a universe and timeline as the original Castlevania timeline, the story with and even without the dlc is full of action, plot twists and characters that will leave you in awe or will make you angry with the situation.

*Some Spoilers Ahead*

A personal example would be the moment after the big reveal at the end, which left me in pieces and made me feel as though I was one with Gabriel Belmont, the one you play as, and also made me feel his regret and hatred towards the pointless journey. Albeit these characters are just part of fiction, I still regret some of their deaths and feel like they did not deserve to die. (Ex: Baba Yaga, Gabriel Belmont, The Black Knight Golem, Laura)

Moving on, if I were to choose between the first and the second one when it comes to the story ,as gameplay-wise they are very different, I would still choose this one as it has a lot more depth to it and the main character is a lot more relatable than in the second one.
