I really enjoy this game. The story is very very good and really gets you invested in your surroundings as V, a mercenary in night city. However what really makes the game is all the side quests and content. That also makes an awkward phasing issue where in the main story of the game you are running out of time and need help and solutions quickly to save yourself, but then at the same time V chooses to all this other ♥♥♥♥ instead like gigs, side quests and exploration. If you are able to ignore that it's truly something you will get pulled into.

The world is huge and there are things to see and explore everywhere, night city feels very alive and like a real place. The game displays very well the differences between the districts and lifestyles that night city holds inside. To me it tells a story on how people have gotten culturally somewhat divided after the corporate wars and everyone in night city is trying theirs hardest to survive it's dangers.

Graphically the game is very impressive and on the cutting edge one could say. I'll never get tired of admiring the surroundings and city in all of it's glory. While traditional shaders look very good ray tracing does add that cherry on top, sometimes the difference is subtle and sometimes you would really notice it. I feel it does help a lot with immersion. This is one of the very few games at the time of writing where Nvidia's DLSS 3 frame gen is actually a setting i choose to enable. It does help with the feeling of smoothness and allows me to push the graphics settings as far as they go and does not introduce shimmering or jitter with certain hud icons like it does in some other titles.

The choices you make do have consequences, sometimes very significant and sometimes less so. Sometimes you might not even realize the consequences of your actions until way later. I have played the game thru 5 times every time choosing slightly different options and it really does make a difference in your experience and how you perceive the city and it's people.

Combat in this game is diverse and satisfying, it gives you a ton of options. The game does a good job at making you feel very overpowered as you progress further and further. It helps with the concept of V being just another mercenary among many until they make it to the very top. The game also has quite a diverse arsenal of weapons to choose from, iconic weapons have unique abilities and sometimes can change the feel of the weapon itself drastically which really adds to the fun.

8.8/10, if you're interested at all you should play it.
