CS:GO Review
Let me begin this review by stating that when I first started playing the Counter-Strike series (Counter-Strike: Source), I absolutely hated it. I couldn't stand skill-based mechanics because at the time I had none myself. After I had tried it and decided it was complete and utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I returned to Garry's Mod to play Prop Hunt just all around annoying people. Later I was roaming YouTube and found a video created by a channel called "WarOwl". I watched all of his Counter-Strike: Source tutorials and found them both entertaining and informative. His novice editing and bad video quality was of no importance to me because it still helped. Fairly soon I began constantly deathmatching in CSS and became... well, novice. I was learning the game but I still could not play it properly because I lacked materials. Fast forward a year and I was playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Already a year old, and yet I could not have more fun. I was just constantly playing in the casual mode, killing those that were worse than me and happily calling hacks on everyone that killed me. It was bliss. The calm before the storm. Ten months ago I began playing the Matchmaking system. It was flawless to me. I was amazing at the game. The game's mechanics in shooting, moving, and knowing, all worked together perfectly. It's skill requirements which I found no lack for made it completely enjoyable. Come up to six months ago. I had been improving greatly, now rarely playing the ingame competitive system, instead playing AltPug. I was constantly destroyed in this system, but I was improving. In the last days of AltPug I was amazing. Come CEVO Pug, I was able to play comfertable at its skill level. This is the story of Counter-Strike. If you think my ramblings arn't a review you are partially correct. You are correct because Counter-Strike is not just a game. It is a story, even though it has none. You cannot truly understand what I mean until you experience the satisfaction of winning a game, or the anger of losing one. I recommend this more strongly than I ever have anything before.
