Great game, pretty much the perfect game for it's genre. Certainly one of the most well optimised and well made games I've ever played. I've made it a rule for myself that I don't look up any builds / layouts online as I feel that would pull away from a lot of the challenge, I would recommend the same for anyone who likes the 'how will I make this' aspect, but if you don't want to have to spend ~10 minutes thinking about how you're going to make something when you research it then you can just use the blueprint system.

It's the dwarf fortress of factory games, with a touch of combat to keep you on your toes (if you like that, otherwise you can prevent the bugs from creating new nests when starting the game, so once you clear them from an area they're gone from there for good). There's a lot of settings for creating a more personalised experience or to mitigate aspects you don't like as much. The developers have done an excellent job and have created a masterpiece of it's genre.

Also there's an expansion to look forward to, and if it's anything like the base game it'll also be an absolute banger.
