I never leave reviews on games normally, however, this game touched my soul so much I had to leave one.

This is a game that will make you feel impossibly stupid and brilliant at the same time. I normally hate exploration games but word of mouth made this one sound like it was worth the try. At first I didn't understand anything and felt so dumb. Once things started to come together I felt like a genius!!

10/10 GOTY every year.

I played all of the available content they have out so far, and I must say that- the inspiration from other series can be seen but Heartbound EASILY is very different and unique from those games. The gameplay is extremely engaging and fun; The characters are so charming and not a single one I hate; The dialogue of interacting with items and the amount of puns had me sighing to and laughing the entire time. Along with these wonderful traits, the themes of the game aren't hidden under layers of mystery and are laid bare BUT it still has a lot of depth. I am so looking forward what else they add as more chapters.

My only complaint is the lack of a pause/inventory menu, but that is me being picky. Otherwise I would say the direction and choices they made for the quality of life of the game are smart and fitting to the game!

I HIGHLY reccommend this game if you are looking for a fantasy story about a boy loving his dog, and his struggles with how life affects him during his adventure.

And if you're looking for a game with a lot of hats (I love all of the hats).

A very well written game that makes the characters charming, quirky, and fun without going over the top. It has a lot of variation in the minigames and a lot of differences in the endings you can get! The game's diversity is very well done (from transgender, to any color of person possible, and all things in between). Overall, it is a highly recommended game.
