First of all, I cannot express enough how much I love this game. So much in fact, that I have been sitting on the absolutely very last possible thing for me to do to finish the game and role those developer credits.

My 110 hours of pissing around does not mean it takes that long to beat... that's me gathering, crafting, and setting up various bases in the many different biomes to park, recharge, eat, craft, etc. or exploring different places that I was waaay to chicken ♥♥♥♥ to explore the first time I was there. All sorts of stuff. According to howlongtobeat.com average of all play styles is 45hrs to complete. Go read the precise times yourself! :D

Visually: this game is so beautiful and has much diversity with it's different biomes.
Story: The story is simple: you've crashed and you need to get off the planet, but the planet has a story of its own to discover. As you play, you can't just rush your ass to the end. You actually need to craft various things to continue to go deeper due to pressure, so be prepared to do so. IMHO it's very rewarding!
Controlling: when you're in the water (which you will spend pretty much 90% of your time in, movement is flawless. Piloting the Seamoth was an absolute pleasure. Piloting the big submarine was tricky due to its size (depending on where you try to take it.) Wandering around on non-water areas was pretty good too, but it always felt like I had sea-legs to some degree, but still relatively easy to move.
Bugs: I didn't discover any at all. It is a very polished game!
Music: normally I don't every bring this up, but the music in the game is terrific!
Motionsickness: You'd think a game where you spend your time bobbin in water would make you throw up in your diving suit... but nope! Everything was cool beans... HOWEVER any time spent on land started to make my stomach turn, but as I mentioned before, you spend more of your time in the water anyway.
Is it scary: atmospherically it can be. If you're the kind of person who is scared of oceans and what's deep down below, then sure. I'll admit I had a sudden run in or two that make me ♥♥♥♥ my diving suit. There are no jump scares. Anything that scared me was very natural (unscripted) from the environment.

Do I recommend this game? Do you really need to ask? Hell ya! Even at full price I recommend it!

Will I ever finish the game? I'm not sure. It's really become my home. <3
