I know it says "early access", but this game feels more complete than most full releases these days. The four factions on offer are all viable, and reasonably balanced, with 3/4 having campaigns available and each having faction having something like eight Wielders (generals) available with their own unique sprites.

The real gameplay revolves around skirmish games (much like most other strategy games), and the turn-based action flows smoothly with no super long pauses for the computer to take its turn. Most matches move fairly briskly, and don't require more than a couple of hours to complete on most 1v1 maps.

The main thing that seems to be the dev's focus before a full 1.0 launch is tuning balance as the bots on higher difficulties can be very challenging / unfair, but if you're playing on normal, you should have a fair time of things.

I'm super excited to see what new factions they come up with in the future as they're not your normal human, elf, orc factions like in HoMM, so it will be interesting to see what they announce next!

If you're looking for a laid back turn-based strategy game, I'd say to definitely give this one a shot!
