If you must play this game, rent it or wait for it to go to $5 before buying it. DNF feels like an old FPS trying to shoehorn itself into today's shooter market. Unfortunately, the humor of the old Duke is old, watered down, and no longer funny - Duke's infamous quips are either borrowed/repurposed from the old Duke games, or play on incredibly old memes that have been beaten to death. It plays like a shooter, but it is not a game that is enjoyable because, ironically, Duke makes the entire experience feel petty.
