Probably one of the best ways for someone with no knowledge of the 40k universe to start.

Solid game with great story and ok combat.

Good Graphics, animations, and gameplay. The game is very easy and runs like garbage. The Devs said they'll fix both. So far they've added two difficult quest. Hopefully one of many steps in the right direction.

At the moment the Game Crashes my PC. Until it's fixed I can't recommend it.
Everytime I launch the game I have to change settings in taskmanager. If the game doesn't crash my PC first. Seems like it uses 100% of my CPU, and when it crashes my OS crashes too.

They keep making the same mistakes they did previous games.
Only reason why I keep returning is because its one of a kind.

A lot of microtransactions for an expensive game.

A incredible concept that is ruined by inept developers. The game gets worse with every patch.

When started playing the game was fun with some balancing issues. Some weapons were useless and others really good.
The devs nerfed the good ones, so now you have a bunch of okay-ish weapons. No fun allowed I guess.
Apparently the devs do not play at the higher difficulties themselves. Obviously this causes balancing issues.

The game is still fun, and I'd recommend it despite these issues. Why I'm not recommending this game is due to bugs. Unfortunately not the kind you can blow up with an orbital strike.

- With every patch the game crashes more. At the start i could play without any issue. Now I can't do a 2 hour session without the game crashing multiple times.
- If I join a game in progress I can't see what type of mission it is. So I have to guess based on what my party has equipped.
- Often I get no reward for a mission.
- If you disconnect there is no good way of reconnecting. You can be 30 minutes in a mission and you disconnect. I can easily find the host from the 'recently played' list, but you can't rejoin without adding them as a friend?
- Sometimes I can't equip a loadout and have to restart the game.
- While playing a mech you rockets may collide with the inside of the rocketube. Exploding and killing you.
There are many more bugs, I can't be bothered listing.

Man... Why couldn't Darktide good.

I am crashing more on the recent updates than in the Beta.

Seems like Fatshark has learned nothing from their previous releases as this one is worse than Vermintide 2.

Update: It is now 2025 and we've gotten multiple skill tree reworks and one singular new class. We got one(!) new face for each gender, and a bloated premium shop with recolors and clipping cosmetics. To be fair we got some new maps and enemies, but for a game thats been out for nearly three years now, it's looking bad. Yes the gameplay is fun (Despite Fatshark's efforts). After hundreds of hours it's getting repetitive.
So that's still a thumbs down.

Fundamentally the game is fun. Although I feel like the resource gathering is too slow.
My problem with the game lies with the story. Every story mission is a slog. You hunt for clues running around on static land and installments. The game is called raft why not incorporate it into the main story?

Blurry, unresponsive, and the crosshair is off-center for whatever reason. Once I fixed these issues (by editing the .ini file mind you) I found a bad character customizer and an uncaptivating introduction. Notice how I've only played 2 hours. Thats because I've refunded the game. So use that knowledge to judge the validity of my review.

As I feared the enemies where bulletsponges, and they de-aggroed as I moved away from them. While running away they regenerated health until they reached their original position. What is this a MMORPG? So much for my sniping tactic. My companion just ran up and died everytime I shot at enemies. I couldn't find a companion wheel which commanded them to use ranged weapons only, but she had a pistol equipped.

It looks and feels like a Borderlands Wannabe.

Do not download if you're looking for good PVP.

If you enjoy looter-shooting then this might be the game for you.
I for one do not enjoy shooting at bulletsponges.
