The recent mid-season update eliminated most of the problems I've encountered playing the game thus far.

It also eliminated 35/38 people in Slime Climb using supersonic hammers but oh well

No matter how many times I ♥♥♥♥ on this game due to it's flaws, excessive amounts of modders and trashy ecosystem, I still find myself returning to this game, again and again.

Firstly, Grand Theft Auto's main singleplayer story has very few flaws and many large reviewers have already had a long time to give their own verdicts on the state of GTA:V's singleplayer. I'm going to focus solely on Grand Theft Auto Online.

Rockstar's GTA:O ecosystem is pointless. People spend hours and hours earning small sums of money and discover they can't buy or access a lot of the game's good content, and many of these players turn to modding or cheating. Rockstar witnesses the large number of modders within the GTA:O community, and, using it as a guideline, price many of their in-game items higher and higher to make them more difficult to access. This causes a negative effect on the users who aren't modding and influences them to turn to doing so, some getting banned in the process. To ensure they aren't banned permanently, many of these users stop using mod menus and find their progress has been brought to a halt as their characters have been wiped. If these users are able to avoid getting banned they ensure they have enough money to cover themselves for the foreseeable future, knowing that Rockstar is going to release newer, more expensive content in the upcoming months.

With the hidden, anonymous modders who solely use menus to give themselves enough money to afford in-game content, also come the modders who abuse their menus and ruin the game experience for other users. From teleporting, invincible characters or vehicles, crashing users' games, and (somehow) exploiting GTA:O's own game mechanics to rob players of their hard-earned money, to using auto-aim during PVP encounters, the GTA:O mod menu community has caused many problems for users and Rockstar themselves.

Furthermore, there are many users who can simply ruin the experience by tryharding their way through different battles and using game mechanics such as taking "the easy way out" to avoid being killed by somebody, or going into Passive Mode after killing players mercilessly, followed up by a paragraph with grammar that barely reaches the level of a mute. The nonsensical trash they spit after demonstrating very little skill in their methods to kill players is enough to infuriate even users with the highest amount of tolerance.

As you can probably tell, in the almost 2000 hours i've put into this game, I have had many experiences like this.

GTA:O updates continue to roll out, and while they add an appropriate amount of content to the game, factors such as the in-game prices and little amount of replayability make it seem as if absolutely nothing new or interesting has been added. It seems like this is all a ploy to get users to spend money on microtransactions like Shark Cards ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

In addition to this, they stretch the updates' lifetimes as far as humanly possible - only releasing a car or two every Tuesday, when many users would prefer it if Rockstar could release them with the update's inital release. Inbetween this, they occasionally give discounts on vehicles or weapons - like that makes a difference - just to delay the remaining content's release.

But, considering all of this, because, before buying you SHOULD consider all of this, I still enjoy the game. Why? Because I used a mod menu and gave myself a ♥♥♥♥ ton of money, i'm skilled in gun combat and have access to a wide range of assets within the game, all because I violated Rockstar's Terms and Conditions in the past. The problem with Grand Theft Auto Online is right under Rockstar's nose and they barely even acknowledge it.

The game is similar to many of the typical survival-style games, such as DayZ. It's a shame that there's very little variation in games within this genre. The game's lack of customization is reflective of how the game has only been released for three days (although this was one of the most important features I was looking for within it, feeling a little misled by the Devs considering how pitiful the customization options are in it's current state). Furthermore, the game has no anti-cheat system, and is riddled with cheaters who ruin the already unsatisfactory game experience. The UI is cluttered, and while it is a good concept, it still throws a ton of information immediately in the user's face without giving them an opportunity to understand how it works. In addition to this, it is incredibly difficult to join a server with another person as there is no option to search for a server name, nor join via the Steam client. Issues like this make the game feel rushed and as of right now, we have very little knowledge on how much time the developers are going to invest in this game and whether or not they will listen and address the issues their player-base has found. The price could potentially increase in the future, although "value for money" is one of the major factors this game currently has going for it right now, and I pray it doesn't increase with the future content that will be added over time. In the future, if this game is able to respond and deal with said issues appropriately, I would consider repurchasing the game. However, in it's current state, I do not believe this game is very different at all to any other survival game, and I don't want to delve deep into the survival game cycle that I have previously fallen into before.

0/10 - Best game i've ever played.

From the perspective of somebody who has played the patch prior to NEXT, let me say this.

No Man's Sky has just experienced one of the greatest comebacks in gaming history.
