Review Showcase
As a longtime fan of RPGs and JRPGs, with Dragon Age: Origins, The Witcher 3, Final Fantasy VII (both original and Remake), and Mass Effect Series among my all-time favorites, I have a deep appreciation for immersive stories, complex characters, and meaningful choices. I’ve played most all of BioWare’s classics, from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to Jade Empire, so when I say this game is solid, I mean it.

The writing here is far more mature than most JRPGs, tackling adult themes with a level of nuance that’s often missing from other popular titles in the genre. It's strange to hear people critique the writing as “immature” or “shallow” when many of the most beloved JRPGs are full of childish moments, even in the face of dire, world-threatening circumstances. Is this game as dark or complex as the first three Dragon Age titles, or The Witcher 3? Not exactly. But does that make it bad writing? Not in the slightest.

I haven’t finished it yet, but the more I play, the more the game grows on me. The pacing picks up, the world becomes richer, and the stakes feel more engaging. So, if you’re on the fence, I’d definitely recommend giving it a shot. It’s a solid, enjoyable experience that’s worth exploring. As for whether it’ll join my list of all-time favorites? I’ll know once I’ve seen it through to the end, but so far, it’s definitely worth the investment.
