Joint Operations was the first military game i ever played; long before i knew about or played games like Call of Duty and Battlefield. My friend recommended it to me way back in 2005 so around 13 years ago. I also still have the physical cases from the initial release of the game. We basically ran a clan back in those days and had alot of fun with other people/clans.

This game was incredibly revolutionary for its time in my personal opinion. From the graphics and animations to the sound design and music. The amount of content in the game is crazy which ranges from a ton of weapons of all gun types to alot of vehicles (air, land and sea) as well as hundreds of buildings, foliage, props etc. The game offers alot of gamemode types and the interface/server browser is easy to use. Its also amazing that this game was able to support 150 to 300 players in one server at a time. I used to play in a server called Dustbowl which would be an all out war scenario across islands with 300 players and i never had any connection issues or lag issues. Coop was probably the most fun and my favorite gamemode.

Joint Operations already has alot of core base content from Typhoon Rising + its Escalation expansion pack however my favorite thing though is the mod expansions. IC Mod (International Conflict) & IC:E (International Conflict Europe) were mod expansions not made by Novalogic but the fanbase itself which has even more content added to the game which extended the lifespan of Joint Operations.

NILE was a map editor for the JO engine and its incredibly user friendly and easy to use. You can create your own custom maps and the best part about the maps in this game is they are infinite which again was revolutionary for 2004 imo so it gives the user creative freedom to do whatever they want.

There are still players as well as real military veterans playing the game to this day which is great to see.

Combined Arms is definitely worth the money especially since its on sale; highly recommend you guys buy it and check out IC Mod and IC:E mod on the internet if you want even more content out of the game.

@Blargman I think I remember your clan...Our clan had a TS.S/D.___ format, those are definitely super familar clan tags though

@What Even Is Life? The clan we ran was called "United Combat Alliance" or UCA for short. We started in early 2006, I was the co-founder along with my best friend. Actually before we even stayed with the name UCA, we were just called "Sarges" with a number next to our names.

We were friends with alot of other old clans like USAM and ICF and alot more i forgot. We've since revisited the the game a few months back, this game was apart of my childhood as well and its nostalgic playing it again.

I'm trying to see if I CN find my old clan mates haha. What clan did you end up running? I used to be in FITE but moved to Team Samurai when they branched off. This game was so good. Countless hours spent in my childhood playing this game.
