Early Access Review
A great little game with mechanics similar to that of a deck builder game. Tons of symbols available with a wide range of viable strategies. At 14hrs of play time I've only unlocked the first 12 levels of difficulty, but I really enjoy having those increasingly difficult setbacks as they push me into trying new combinations keeping the game fresh with each new run. The one critique I have is the limited variety of music, that I finally just muted in favor of my own tunes. Strongly Recommended. I look forward to the future of this game.

I've been on something of a deck builder kick lately, I was very impressed by the demo, and pre-ordered Inscryption shortly after finishing it. It has not disappointed. The blend of escape room and deck building has been a real treat. I'll admit that I was concerned with how quickly I made it to the end... Or wait... Th-that wasn't the end? Such a fun game! I'm a big fan of the sinister art style and all of the characters speaking in rhyme. Until you get your first win, the game serves as a mix of tutorial and showcases the many available equipment-related paths to victory. I haven't beaten the advanced "Rings" yet, but the gameplay loop is so engaging and fun that I look forward to the time when I finally succeed. I would recommend Ring of Pain to anyone looking for a delightful dungeon delve.

Absolutely love the game. Isee it being likened to Sonic or Megaman, but I would say it is more of the difficult/insane timing required of Super Meat Boy or Electronic Super Joy meeting the fast paced free running/platofming bliss of inMomentum. A story exists though it can be hard to follow given the branching level options, not terribly written otherwise. Beating a level within a time frame is HARD, which makes it all the more rewarding when accomplished. I see myself getting many more hours out of this gem.
