Probably one of the best, if not the best mechanised warfare game out there. It brings all the cool things into play, with extensive historical representations to select from, individual vehicle modules determining their functionality, beautiful visuals, effects and engaging gameplay. It manages to blend the concepts of 'game' and 'simulator' very well.

That said, the game is not without it's flaws, with there being significant stagnation in game-modes and a notable disdain for the playerbase from the developers unless you're Russian. These can be quite easily ignored, unless you're actively looking for a scapegoat for your frustrations for the true villain in this game: the grind.

The game is one monstrously huge grind. You may start off happy with what you get for free (since it's f2p), but at some point you see something you want and the time to get there without forking out cash is impossible to fathom unless you are willing to throw literal years into (I've got most tank tech trees nearing completion, but my planes and heli's are barely halfway done, I've ignored the ships completely).

To add to that, it doesn't help that the monitization model that's been used is a blatant cashgrab with none of the prices justified in how high they are, leading to many who can't afford them to claim it's "Pay-to-win" (which it isn't, none of the paid-for benefits are true 'game-changers', although the select few premium vehicles do have an edge, enough to decide a confrontation or two). It's not as bad as those Asian mobile games with their loot boxes that cost an arm and a leg to open and still require luck to determine the outcome, but it's nowhere near something as gratifying to buy things for as Warframe. In my opinion, either get rid of the premium sub and let all players research and earn everything faster while keeping the premium tanks as they are, or add the premium tanks into the lineup and acquirable through reasonable in-game means. Seriously, even the event vehicles one can get are a dumb grind, and a time-gated one at that...

All in all, I recommend it because:
1. I enjoy playing it
2. I like tanks
3. I like *some* (not too much) realism in my games when it comes to the 'historical' (even though this game is technically very inaccurate by not having infantry)
4. A lot of the vehicle mechanics are represented well (not all)
5. It's pretty
6. Good for jamming with some buddies if you want something slower-paced than an FPS
