Probably the best game engine out there regarding 2d games for solo developers. As this is the only way I use it coming from Game Maker Studio and Unity. Been following the project since early v3, the progress is awesome. Give it a try. When you want to dig deeper I can recommend the tutorials made by GDQuest.
