Great co-op game! I played this LOCALLY with a gamepad and a keyboard. Great controls on either end.

I found myself strategizing with my teammate(s) and generally having fun. Most levels after the first world (there are 4, I think) have an amazing level of difficulty. Each level has three gems - beat the level, a "challenge" and a time trial. I generally skipped the time trial as that required you to really strategize in between waves and try over and over again to beat the level within the time limit. Seemed like a waste of my gaming time to me, so I left it alone. however! Some of the challenges were actually really cool and most definitely add replayability.

For instance, a level would be about moving blocks around and solving a puzzle, killing some dudes, and then finding the end banner. Easy enough, allows you to use your brain, and you get to fight quite a bit. The challenge? Don't get hit by suicide monsters. Adds some good challenge, but it isn't terribly difficult. Strategy for those levels takes 1 minute or less, and a little bit of talking which is perfect. Time trials are a different story - lots of strategy, retrying levels, and I would almost say are next to impossible with less than 3 players.

In the end, I recommend this very highly to anyone that has even one other person they like to play games with. Netcode is great, no noticable lag, and steam has some great voice chat.

Play!
