Oniric experience, It really doesn't make sense most of the times just like dreams, the game is best experienced like it is : "something that doesn't make sense and makes sense sometimes".

Really like the rpg aspect of this game, you really REALLY need to talk to every npc you encounter,they can give you spells and other items that can help you in your journey.

Also don't feel bad to save scum :)
