Really great game, very enjoyable both a weird horror game with a great atmosphere and as a deck building card game. avoiding spoilers, there is a sort of meta element which really didn’t land for me and the story comes to a screeching halt to service these sections. Fortunately, they are brief, and many are skippable, though still an irritant.
The actual game play of the card game is very innovative over the standard magic or hearthstone mechanics, and despite having a much smaller range of cards, the card game elements are massively engaging, and enjoyable to learn and use.

Good game, solid 8/10, looking forward to any DLC

What is there to say that has not already been said? this game is massively padded. It is riddled with repetition, the world stage needs a total rework to make it something that's not just a chore, the AI is a mess, the game is too hard in the early stages (barely enough gold to get started, agents too powerful) and too easy later on (i would regularly not even notice a super agent, as the pop up announcing their arrival was immediately followed by the one informing me of their defeat). even the final mission requires huge amount of time wasting repetition. it's a real shame, as there is a good game here, underneath all the weird design choices and poor implementation of gameplay systems.

Spend your money else where, better yet buy the original; this is just an irritating waste of potential

There is a lot to like about this game; the visuals are really nice, the atmosphere is well maintained from the first game, and the puzzles are fun. However, it has too many problems to really recommend it, to the point where it because pretty frustrating at time:

 Constant glitches, getting stuck places which soft locks the game, enemies killing you from far away, enemies killing you without doing an animation

 Awkward controls; whilst they are the same as the first game, they feel a lot more clunky, this is largely down to the amount of precision needed in time pressured jumps and the like. There is also a large delay between letting go of crouch and your boy standing up, which is excoriating when running away from a boss

 The combat: ‘I know lets introduces small enemies, which still one hit kill you, but you have to fight!’ the combat is extremely awkward, thanks to a very slow attack animation, the range of which is very hard to judge, enemies that will happily dodge said attack, even if they are mid attack, and them being as mentioned, one hit kills.

 Short run time: 4-5 hours, maybe more if you are unlucky enough to encounter as many bugs as I did

 Some of the puzzles I found to be very unclear, with trial and error being your friend much more than the first game

 The story feels a lot less smooth; without going into spoilers it feels like each area is pretty arbitrary in terms of theming, whereas in the first game there was a clear progression, and goal: to escape the Maw. In this game it feels a little like you are just randomly walking around for the first half of the game, and then it suddenly remembers it needs a plot

Overall this game feels like an irritating waste of potential, and at a bit of a steep cost. Wait for the sale
