Early Access Review
So far so good, like the more roguelike aspect of the game. The way you place items in your backpack to increase the quality with the little puzzle's are great. Alot more things to work towards and unlock, the last game was easily gamed.

Its the same old Gears of War, still broken and Jank. But it is what you expect from it. Still issues with Hit Reg. People downing you before someone else. If you havent played a Gears game since the 360 days then this is just the same but with better graphics. If you played anything since the first Gears Game then dont expect anything special. Recommending on the fact that im having fun playing with my friends who played this with me when it first came out all them years ago.

Review Update Edit: Played another few hours just again give it another chance and if I could refund this game I would. The controls are garbage, this plays more like a rhythm game than anything else, its single input controls. There is 0 input rollover. Some fights expect you to have quick reactions or move quickly. When you cant press Jump, Dash or Attack and directions at the same time which causes your character to not do the function you want or does a different function attached to those buttons whats the point of playing the game, you have to wait for every animation to stop before doing anything else.

While the art, style, music and theme of the game are great.. the game's controls are poor and over complicated for what is a platformer. There are so many different mechanics in the game that ruin the experience. When there are buttons that are under used or have one use.

Mapping your tool to the UP+R1(RB) button means alot of the time you will either misuse the tool or your ability. If you are at an interactive object you will use the object rather than your tool if attacking.

Using the dash to begin your sprint? Not having a sprint button maybe as they have multiple uses for one button maybe a long press should be a sprint and short tap is a dash /s

When jumping is a key component of the game making it Long press sensitive to adjust the height you jump is terrible as some jumps require quick inputs having to long press on a sequence of jumps is bad. Attacking bosses and having to long press to jump to attack but also having to short press to dodge attacks as a combination is brutal. Especially the diabolical jumping parts when you need to bounce of objects never thought the monkey level in lion king could be beaten for genius.

Taking multiple hits because even touching a corner(pixel) of an enemy/boss (even if the boss is stunned) not to mention if they where in an attack animation.

If your facing the left and want to attack to your right your character will slightly walk backwards to the right before attacking. If you attack while doing this there is a high chance you will just attack to the left.. Double Dragon on NES solved this by allowing a back attack that was in 1987.

A game should be fun with the challenge of playing the game, not the challenge of trying to overcome the control design.

I bought and played this game 10 years ago around this time and stopped playing it. I was bored today and decided to load it up. I forgot how great this game is. It still had my cloud saves from 10 years ago as well. Super chill and fun. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who likes Factory style / Manufacturing style games. Its more tangible than many other games because you are physically creating items on a production line. Funny enough when you do make a solution it is super satisfying shame they didnt come up with Satisfactory as a name first.

The Game just had a patch today, and looks to have resolved the Custom Lobby Issue. I can now fully recommend this game.

This game has so much potential to be a spiritual successor to C&C Generals.

" previous review before update " In its current form online lobby's don't work. It seems to be a roll of the dice. If your unsuccessful your stuck with a loading box and cant back out and retry you have to alt f4 the game. I have submitted a ticket and they have replied with the most basic of fixes. I'm convinced its on their end. Your made host a dedicated server to create a lobby so there is some hand shake or similar stopping it from working.

Super chill, not complicated, great game to have running on your other screen. From seeing streamers playing it assumed it was another streamer shill game, looked garbage but is actually really fun.
