A PS3/PS4/PSVita port of a Standard JRPG, with a higher emphasis on crafting everything you would need in an JRPG. It was great... until I checked my task manager.

Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book was one of those few Sony exclusives that made me want a PS4. I've seen an anime related to it, and adored the art style. As I heard the news of a Steam port, I was overly exuberant, constantly checking the Steam's "Upcoming" directory for an official listing, and preordered the game at first sight (with the other game I didn't care much about, but hey, 20% discount bundle, right?).

The game features Sophie, an aspiring alchemist who doesn't know s*** about alchemy. She eventually learns the basics, and has a dream to simply "make everyone happy with her alchemy, just like her grandmother once did". So you learn all there is to alchemy, and converse with an interesting cast of characters along the way.

The battles are a blend of traditional turn-based, with some extra combo mechanics built-in. Very simple to understand. The alchemy mechanics will take some time to understand, but once you get the hang of it, creating items is as simple as trying to get that slightly better material, to get that slightly better effect.

As a traditional RPG, you eventually save up a lot of gold to buy that slightly better, more expensive option to fight with. Atelier Sophie however, most of your shopkeepers are useless, and expect you to usually provide materials to be able to sell better gear. You'll be crafting your own weapons, armor, potions, and other various battle items most of the time.

My only complaint about this game is the PC Optimization. Now at first, I didn't notice how bad of a PC port this game was, playing it in 1440p fullscreened... until Steam Broadcast kicked in and I could clearly tell my game was laging... Then after investigation, I realized any time the game runs a 3D Scene (including cutscenes), CPU usage spikes up to 90%. When within a pause menu, or the World Map, cpu usage drops to about 5~10%. Now I am running this game with an i7 4790K, so I'm going to presume players with weaker cpus are actually hitting cpu bottlenecks during 3D Scenes.

*After Patch* The CPU issues that were an issue before no longer exist.

Overall, Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book is a great game, for the RPG fans out there who love to collect items and craft the best gear.

A great game about building an amusement park, and (most importantly) making the roller coasters.

A fun game for players of various types, from those who want to play on a limited budget and research for new attraction types, and making the park friendly for various age groups (Challenge Mode), to those who just want to do whatever they want with unlimited money, and not care about guest feedback much (Sandbox Mode).

So on my 2nd challenge mode park, I was able to save up $10,000,000 and I thought to myself "Let's make an awesome roller coaster!". After a couple of minutes, my rad coaster was completed, tested, and ready for the public to ride.

Sadly, I got 5% of guests saying the ride "looked too intense for me", and no one dared to get on it. I tried many things to convince them to at least try it, even went as far as making the ride free to get on, but still, no one dared.

Despite my sadness, I can still say this is a great game for those who like sandbox or limited building of amusement parks; a true game from the heart of RollerCoaster Tycoon.

Conception 2 is a dungeon crawling RPG featuring the main character + choice of heroine and a bunch of their children fighting to save the world or something.

Short summary of story: World is getting attacked by monsters coming from these portals. Humans can fight off these monsters, but only in their world. Enter main character: Apparently, he's such a badass, he can fight in the enemy's world. He can also bring a waifu too! Main character + Waifu of choice needs to go through series of dungeons to save the world. Don't forget the kids!

Traditional RPG mechanics at its finest, Conception 2 plays similar to the Persona games in terms of dungeon exploration and enemy encounters. You fight enemies in battle by selecting an attack or skill, and then picking where to attack from: Front, side, rear. Enemies have distinct weak points that when hit, deals extra damage. There's also an elemental attack type system, and a few other minor elements to the game. If you're into traditional RPGs, you may find an interest in the game.

As the game's imagery suggests, yes. Conception 2 also has dating sim elements. Between story progression sections, you are given the opportunity to chat with a few of the heroines in a simple visual novel style cutscene. Usually giving you one or a few choice option of words or interactive options. Depending on what you pick, you can improve their mood, or make them hate you more. Their moods will also determine the strength of your children.

Oh, did I mention children? YES. CHILDREN. In the game, you are required to visit a proclaimed "Holy place" with a heroine of your choice. In this statement, the main character has sexual intercourse with the female character and creates "star children" undergoes a ritual to create non-human beings that fight along side you called the "Star Children". The game states however, that this is a ritual, and not what your dirty mind thinks it is. I would like to believe them, but seeing as one of the girls became exhausted after the event, and they're very embarassed by the act... I'm watching you, Conception 2...

The PC Port isn't bad, but I'd like to say it's "Lazy". The game itself doesn't have any settings to turn on the MSAA. or other important graphical features. Hell, you can't even CHANGE THE RESOLUTION. These settings can however be changed in the "config.json" file within the game's installed folder. I suppose it's better to at least have the option than not be able to at all, but still... Is a graphic config menu really that hard to add? There's now a configuration tool.

Controller is highly recommended. There's no "proper" configuration for using keyboard to type.

In the end, Conception 2 on Steam is a solid port. I've had no issues running the actual game, only PC Elitist issues of keyboard + mouse support.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to buy a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of this game's steam cards...

Heart & Slash is a Roguelike action platformer in which you travel through randomly generated dungeons in search for the plot.

No, I mean seriously...

You play as our hero, a robot named "Heart". A fitting title for a small protagonist, whose display monitor displays a heart image. Not much longer after just being assembled, you are told to "Run". Randomly attacked by various robots that for some reason want to kill you, you are given a random selection of weapons and aparrel to fight the threat off. From Baseball bats, Boxing Gloves and Fancy Suits to Rocket Hammers, Shotguns, and... Rubber Ducky outfits?
(oh, and it gets even more weird, but I'll let you find that out on your own)

Throughout the randomly generated levels, you are supposed to complete a sequence of events in a certain way to progress through the story. You will constantly find yourself at the "end" of the game and achieving bad endings before you finally build up to the true ending.

Gameplay wise, the game performs excellent. There's a wide variety of weapons, and each weapon has their own distinct combat style (however some like the Boxing Gloves compared to Badboy Knuckles are simply a difference in attack speed and damage). All weapons and armor have upgrade paths, which are upgraded by junk parts collected from defeated robots.

If you so chose, you are also given the option to "Scrap" weapons or armor pieces. This allows you to convert your gear into health. Sometimes you may end up almost dead in a boss fight, asking yourself if you should give up your shield, or your pistol to save your own skin. Upgraded weapons that are scrapped also give you more health in return.

Performance wise, with my beast of a machine, the game runs almost perfect. However on rare occasions, I do notice very slight hickups when transitioning between some rooms, but I don't think that will be a big bother.

As an Early Access buyer, I found this game very appealing. Through the process, I even helped a bit by finding some really odd bugs (I really miss the invisible Chainsaw glitch). I'm happy to finally see it released on Steam, and I highly recommend for people who like those roguelike games, that seem to be all the rage nowadays.

A basic infinite runner in which you collect coins, dodge obstacles, and recover HP by flipping up the skirts of nearby schoolgirls.

You use the coins to unlock alternate costumes.

And.... that's it. It's $1. I really like it.

SoniComi is a videogame featuring Super Sonico. You play as her cameraman in a series of visual novel, quick time, and photography sections. Your actions and choices will guide you to one of multiple endings.

SoniComi originally released for PC sometime in 2011. Eventually, the game had a slightly improved re-release came to PS3 in 2014.

The game itself is mostly a visual novel, with a couple of scenes for the Photography segments are in 3D. Also, the only character model in 3D is Sonico herself, with a wide assortment of outfit and color options for you to pick from. Obviously, you don't have access to the really good outfits until later in the game.

The visual novel sections are pretty standard, with the inclusion of backlogs. One thing you need to know however, is there's no "Save anywhere" option, like other visual novels. You are only given save points at the beginning of each chapter, and before the photography segments.

The Quick-Time Sections are just slightly different alterations of the visual novel section, where you have the option to interact with Sonico with a pre-selected action, and aim wherever you want. These actions can vary from patting her on the head, Grabbing her arm, Talking about a certain subject, and more. These segments of selection are also timed, so it is possible to not interact.

The Photography segments have similar controls to a first-person-shooter. you have free movement around an enclosed area around Sonico at your location, and you must take pictures of her from different angles at specific points. Time them all perfectly to start a combo, and a traditional point scoring system shows your results. The outfits you select for Sonico to wear for these segments will determine your ending.

This game does not feature any nudity, so if you're here to be lewd, all you'll have are oppai and panty shots.

Performance wise, on my beast of a machine (i7 4790K, 16gb Ram, GTX 1080), this game was a breeze to run. The game supports up to 1080p resolution, and can be played in windowed mode or fullscreen.

Ultimately, if you are a fan of virtual japanese idols (including Hatsune Miku), this game is right for you. If you're here for fanservice, it may not be worth the current asking price.

I personally enjoyed it.

It's a pretty short visual novel, I beat it in an hour.

Contains some really... interesting bad endings, I was especially content with the dialogue option of "Call the Police".

Content alone is pretty small, but with all said and done, this visual novel is surely worth the asking price.

If you however are not appeased by visual novels however, there are better choices out there.

This is a great action game with oppai, and no I'm not saying that for the intensive fanservice. That's more like the icing on the cake here...

Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus is a beat-em-up game that features (at the start of the game) 12 playable characters, and a lot of character customization options (Sadly, can't change weapons). One part of the character customization, is the ability to place your choice of accessory anywhere on your character. This means if you're one of those weird kids who thought about placing cat ears on your character's ass, you can do that.

Combat is pretty standard. You fight with the same basic combinations, eventually leveling up and obtaining new abilities. There are 3 different "forms" to take within battle. You start in your first form, and then you either transform into a special outfit with new attacks, or... rip off your original clothes down to your bra and panties for a different form. Each form gains experience from fighting in it during missions, and once you transform into one of the other two forms, you can not change back until the end of the battle.

The characters also have 2 different special attacks that can be used when changed into any of the other forms (not the starting form!) by using some points from the skill bar. Each character has a different set of special attacks.

New outfits, accessories, and hairstyles can be bought in the game's store with currency obtained from completing missions or story quests. They even allow you to zoom to see your characters in detail, and you can inapropriately touch them pet them using the right mouse button. DLC items are already available and are not a separate purchase.

Within battle, if you apply enough consistent damage to a boss character (essentially any character you can actually play as), articles of clothing can start to tear apart from the opponent. If the player finishes off a boss character with a special move, while the boss character only has their undergarmets left, they can completely lose their bra or panties at the end of the battle. It even sticks around in the following cutscene if the cutscene shows the character models.

This game supports online multiplayer! (Developing)...

Performance wise, I was running the game on an Intel i7 4790K, 16GB DDR3 Ram, and a GTX 1080. Now despite this being overkill for a game like this, I can say I've had no issue running this game in 1080p borderless windowed mode (However the window stretches to my entire screen resolution of 1440p, so am I running it in 1440p?). Throughout my initial playthrough of the game of 4 hours, I've only experienced a really crazy slowdown mid-gameplay, where my FPS dropped to the low 5s for some strange reason, even caused my own computer to lag. After a system reboot, I have yet to encounter this issue again.

Other than that, I did have these 3 minor issues:
  • Character models, when shown in cutscenes seem to randomly shake a bit.
  • Similar to the above issue, this also sometimes happens in combat.
  • The lack of any kind of Anti-Aliasing on the character's shadow is a bit distracting, but does not affect gameplay.

I have been waiting for quite a while for this game to come to PC, and now that it has, I'm a happy camper.
Now just give us Estial Versus, please XSeed/Marvelous.

Smashing the Battle is a generic 3D beat-em-up that probably draws people in with the anime style, and the unusually large cleavage of the various characters showcased.

I streamed this game on Steam during the first 2 hours of launch, and was informed that this was a port of a mobile smartphone game only available in Korea.

Gameplay was pretty standard, I guess you could say this plays like a single player version of Dota 2. The game's limited skillset has a couple of cooldowns and SP requirements. You are unable to obtain new skills, only upgrade the stats of your available skills.

Other things to mention about the game:

  • Repetitive gameplay: You will be fighting the same monsters, using the same actions with very little to no variety of gameplay.

  • Keyboard controls: For those who are unable to use a controller, the default keyboard controls are pretty bad. The main problem being generic movement is mapped to arrow keys, and not WASD These controls can not be re-mapped. (Resolved as of 5/18/2016)

  • No quality options: The game will simply play in fullscreen, stretched to your monitor's resolution. No questions asked. (Resolved as of 5/18/2016)

  • Not many options for alternate costumes: Only about 5 total for the main character, including the starting armor.

The game itself runs... pretty well for me. I haven't had any game crashes, noticed any strange bugs, and runs just fine at a locked 60fps.

So I'd say this game is pretty average at best. Average, but worth the $12 asking price ($10.19 for the first week sale).

Now maybe they can use the money they made from selling this game to... buy a license to use Unity?

Tabletop Simulator is a simulation game where you simulate a tabletop experience. Play some games that you would normally need a table for, over the internet with your friends!

Remember playing board games? Card games? Puzzles? Yeah, this is pretty much that.

I'm not even sure if there's a dumber way to explain this. You're just playing tabletop games. The simulator has all the controls you'll need to be able to play your tabletop game just like you remember. There's even a flip table button!

Due to Steam Workshop, almost any tabletop game you could think of, is probably in the game. If it's not, you can even submit your own!

I personally played Uno with friends using this, but I used to also play Monopoly, Pokemon TCG and the Yugioh TCG.

Online play is incredible, but you can't always trust every random stranger on the servers. There are some people who take the time to join random (public) servers, and ruin it for the others. I've had quite a few instances where people would join my Yugioh server, and if they didn't have the permissions to flip the table, Pick up everything and toss it off the table, or trolling with their microphones, they were typing "BOOBIES" on the calculators.

I recommend Tabletop Simulator, just be careful when playing in public lobbies.
