I had fun... a little bit, but not enough. It's sad for me to say this, but i cannot recommend this game.
I had high spectations for this (well, not that high, but i expected it to be fun), but it falls under the mediocre videogame, and i really wanted to like it.

Story wise, hmm... it's some random sh*t, not relevant, and there's no problem with it. We came here for the SHOOT AT EVERYTHING! But there's the main problem, i came here for the gameplay, and the gameplay... it's mediocre.

Let's start with the positive points.
- Some people don't like the art style or graphics, i do.
- Shooting the guns itself, it's fun, you have variety and... well, that's it.

Everything else just doesn't work.
- The weapons aren't balanced, some are pretty much crap, and you'll use one or two that do decent damage.
- The weapon upgrades are just... uhh so dissapointing. A lot of filler upgrades just for the sake of it. Typical upgrades like "5% faster reload" or "5% rate of fire". And repeat this 5 times for each upgrade. You won't notice anything, useless. I mean, sure, it will be 5% faster but... ok?
- There's no interesting mechanics, and the ones that are in the game don`t work!
- The dash is fine i guess, but it's caothic and you are not encouraged to use it. I finished the game without using it, just to move faster through already visited areas.
- The "use melee attack to reflect bullets" just doesn't work, i tried it a lot of times, and i mean a lot. I died a lot of times just to try to make it work.
- The enemies are like sponges, or maybe most of the guns are useless (*ehem* shotgun), which kills the momentum and the purpose of going rambo and killing things. And because of the mechanics i think that's the point, this is a casual game, more straight forward to just killing, but it becomes just tedious.

It could have been awesome but fails on it's basics (for the aimed genre i mean).

I think you saying here that it was only 3.5 hours is an important thing,

I'm still not clear if the 3.5 hours was when you 'seen' all the mechanics of the game, or if you literally finished it in 3.5 hours.

If you actually finished it in 3.5 hours then definitely put that in the review.

cool

And... Hope devs stop doing that, cause that's some wasted talent. I think that if they really craft something with the propper dedication and love, they could create something really good. Oh, and i will check Dimension Drifter :D

And about being nit-picky... I think it's a good thing. Of course, not just to be mean or feel cool. I try to give always my opinion in a constructive way, cause i help some people in other medias like art, music, etc. And if i was a dev or a creator i would like to have nit-picky people (the constructive ones) to improve my craft instead of conformist gamers.

Of course, i can still appreciate the things that are done correctly. This game is not awful by any means, it has some good stuff.

Also... i never worry about the rating (on the stuff i create or the stuff that i like) cause if something is good, it will raise to it's place. Meaning, i might have downvoted this cause i don't like it. But if it's good, another 200 positive votes will burry my opinion and life will keep going.

Oh, i guess i compared haha. Ok, my bad i guess? But i think it's pretty normal, that's how we form our thoughts and opinions (also personality and that stuff). Human brain works from previous experiences as a refference but let's not get into science.

Also, a game cannot be downvoted "unfairly" because at the end of the day, a review is a review, and it's an opinion. You either like it or not, you don't have to be fair.

Is it fair that i like blue? Some people would say that's a stupid question, right?

In any case, for a review not be "unfair" you would have to be an expert on the matter and NOT JUDGE ANYTHING. Just give information, but the moment you rate something, you judge it, it becomes an opinion. It could be a very well informed and full of knowledge opinion, but an opinion in the end.

That dev is very talented, he made a game called 'Dimension Drifter' and it's the best 'fast' shooter I ever played in my life (even better than Quake Arena),

and yeah I totally agree with the 'longer than 3.5 hours' and polished game thing,

devs are taking advantage of players by releasing too many unfinished games at once, so I totally agree with you there.

I'll have to see how the game is as I play it more,

we're all here to make a better gaming experience for everyone

So yeah, it was never my intention to compare to other games "

-- Well you said that in your review,

that was literally the gist of your review was that 'it sucked compared to other games I played"

You can't say now, "it wasn't my intention to compare it to other games" when that was literally what you were saying your review was based on.

I might sound nit-picky saying that but I seen many games down-voted (unfairly) based on that false premise -

'I'll rate this game down, because other games are better, even though I don't know which actual games and if you ask me I can't give you any examples"

- that's a really messed up way of 'reviewing' games

And the thing about the dev, i don't know much but i've heard some bad things about him. It sucks, because this looked good, it just needs a little bit more polish and being longer or at least be a really consistent/solid 3.5 hours that it took me.

I mentioned other games 'cause you were talking about price, which is also not a good factor. I was trying to make the point that prize matters (ofc) BUT it shouldn't be a big factor in a review 'cause:

1st - I had more fun with other games with cheaper prize (this was my point, not trying to compare to other games, but to go against the "considering the 10 € price into my review")

2nd - Prize is relative to the person's finantial status. I cannot recommend a game for being "cheap", cause "cheap" is relative. I think that a good review should give the info to decide for yourself if it's worth your bucks.

So yeah, it was never my intention to compare to other games, that's why a cannot think about a game to give you an example cause that's not what i intended. Every videogame is it's own experience (unless is a franchise, i guess).

that said, if the game is actually shorter than 3.5 hours I'll definitely change my review to a thumbs-down,

In fact I was considering thumbing it down at first based on the premise that the developer seems to be pumping out small (even unfinished) games instead of taking the time to actually finish one and make it polished and a thorough gaming experience (a common problem with games on steam)..

I'll keep an eye out with just how long it is it's definitely not fair for gamers to pay for unfinished games,

when a developer goes off and works on 5 others at the same time

---> " But here im measuring how much fun i've had in the hours that i played and personally i had more fun with other games and even with cheaper games. I " --

" As for other games within the same genre, i cant think of any right now, but well, im not comparing this game to another game, "

" i had more fun with other games " <<---->> " i cant think of any right now "

-- and there-in lies the problem with reviews like that, they 'compare' them to 'other' games and when asked 'which games?' you realize they're fictional and in someone's imagination (this is a common problem with reviews on steam, nothing personal)
