Worst piece of trash software I've installed on my computer in a long time. Forces fullscreen, forces resolution, constantly changes its own settings and resolutions. Dumb garbage.

Moved from VNyan to this today and WOW - Such a better experience so far. The only complaint I have is that lip sync is REALLY finicky and doesn't really work well. Have already made a post on their discord and hopefully can get it sorted out, I have a workaround for this for now. The pros massively outweigh the cons here, so much is easily accessible while nothing being hidden away from power users like myself. This is just a good experience and I am VERY happy with it so far!

More forced pop-ups than the internet in 2004, unbearable to actually get to gameplay.

Not a lot of content yet but very very fun.

After owning this game for a very long time and coming back to it for 1.0... wow... It feels like it's gone BACKWARDS somehow. II wasn't expecting RoN but man, this just doesn't really feel good to play.

Could have more content but the three levels are definitely full of replayability, I think it's worth the asking price.

Good puzzle game, only made me feel dumb twice.

If there were a "neutral" review option I would choose it here. I don't feel like the game is bad enough for negative, but it sure isn't good enough for positive.

Before I even begin, the game appears not to support any resolution higher than 1080p. I tried for a while to get it to work on any of my 1440p monitors and none gave me the option for higher than 1920x1080 resolution in fullscreen, windowed, or borderless.

As opposed to Mafia 1: DE which was a complete remake of the original from the ground up, Mafia 2: DE is a remaster, a fresh coat of paint on the textures and some other minor changes, but it's still a 2010 game at heart, and it feels like that. It simply feels 10 years older after playing Mafia 1: DE, which is a a bit jarring.

The game is a product of its time, the on-foot controls are fairly clunky, but driving is still done extremely well in true Mafia style. Unfortunately, the game does NOT feature manual transmissions as the first did. Sad.

Turning music off renders the cutscenes into a "Shreds" style video where literally the only audio is the voice actors, Hard difficulty is actually a challenge, but a large portion of that challenge is simply the clunky controls getting you stuck on a wall outside of cover.

I ran across a few cutscenes that had no audio at all, a few places in the game were my framerate suddenly dropped below 20 for minutes at a time (Ryzen 5800x3d, 64GB RAM, RTX 4070 Ti Super, 1080p), and a few stuck loading screens causing me to have to restart a mission via game restart.

Not unplayable, not bad, but certainly not good even when looked through the 2010-colored glasses. Definitely NOT the "Definitive" edition like Mafia 1: DE was.

This is what a remake of a game should be. True to the original, gorgeous, performs phenomenally.

Put a few matches in tonight and everything feels right. Good anticheat. Good networking. Good movement. Good gunplay. Good mechanics. Good. Game. This is about to become my new addiction.
