I had to turn off Camera Roll for it to be playable, personally, but after that the game was a blast. Its a game about finding the shortest path to your destination using everything at your disposal from wall running and diving through windows to blasting a hole through the wall. Movement is very floaty and guns are very punchy. Great sound design too, and a nice OST.

Worth noting: The campaign is ~3 hours long. There are multiple difficulties and several other game modes, but I got it on sale for $10 and I think that was a good value.

The water refraction blew my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mind.

Mad cuz bad, for the most part. This is a benchmarking tool and people are mad that they can't get high FPS in it. Don't know what they expected... On a 4090 and a R9 7950X3D it runs at ~75 fps on average with everything maxed out, DLSS Quality.

That being *said*... there's a really cool developer options menu where you can tweak everything from motion blur sample rate/diameter to lighting intensity, the only problem is it crashes every time you use it and when you relaunch the game is crashes on the main menu and the only way to fix this is to verify game cache. What I want to do is push every single setting to its absolute limits and see what this absolute unit of a PC can do but the game itself is too unstable to do that, which is a let down.

Other than that, its a 10/10 game that has been updated with incredible visuals. And its free...

I thought this game was ♥♥♥♥ at first but its really the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of it that makes it so fun. Actually pretty unique shooter.

I'm not even really a souls guy but the last game that made me feel this way was Skyrim. The way there's literally always something just ahead to investigate. The way the reward for doing so isn't just a Korok seed or whatever (until it is, but then you read a note saying "Why is it always mushroom?" and it *feels* like you were rewarded, even when you weren't). The way every individual region of the world is just teeming with art direction and high fantasy imagery. The way the enemy designs are so interesting you flirt with death just to see the whole moveset. The high number of equipment items that all look genuinely unique.

One of the things that turned me off about souls games in the past was that if I lost my souls I felt like I had to grind back through an area I already completed to get them back or I'd be underleveled for the boss. I've never once had that feeling in Elden Ring. In part because the spawns are a bit more forgiving (directly in front of a boss room, for example), but also because of the fundamental gameplay design changes that come from it being open world. I'd go into it, but I'd rather get back to playing.

11/10 best open world game since Skyrim.

Found myself losing interest part way through the campaign and after a year or two I came back to it. The last 5 or so hours of the game really pick up and its apparent that every decision you make can dramatically change the ending. And since its an Obsidian RPG, the ending is very thorough and satisfying (think New Vegas). The combat and perks aren't super exciting but the other roleplaying mechanics are very fleshed out and deep. 8/10!

11/10 the cat's eyes do that reflective thing when you're in a dark place and you can walk in front of robots to trip them. Also its one of the prettiest games I've ever seen in my life.

A genuinely unique feeling metroidvania with an absolutely spectacular horror soundtrack. Its easy to get lost as there's no map but that sort of adds to the experience in a weird way.

Wow. I went into this game with very little knowledge expecting an experience very similar to Slay the Spire. I got that, but I also got so, so, SO much more. This is not just Slay the Spire. This isn't even just a CCG. Its half puzzle game, half CCG, half ARG, half mind♥♥♥♥. So there you go, its 2 full games for the price of one!

There were like 8 distinct moments in this game that completely blew my mind. There were mechanics that made me go "WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥?"

11/10 would google the rules of a 15th century card game again. Genuinely the best indie game I've played in years. ♥♥♥♥.
