The character interactions are great, though after just an hour or two all the voicelines just start repeating, which can get annoying.
Definitely don't be afraid to look up the various tells that the characters do; it can be pretty tough to figure them out by yourself.
As I'm writing this, you can't actually get this game from Steam anymore, but you can still find some codes online for sale to redeem. Just be cautious of where you're buying them from. I bought this back when it was still on Steam, but the sequel I ended up buying a key online which fortunately worked.
Overall I still recommend getting this if you can; especially if you want to get the TF2 item rewards.
