EARLY GAME THOUGHTS:

I was HELLA into Dying Light playing it across platforms for YEARS, while Dying Light 2 is drastically different in ways - it is still a great game. Issues so far is that parkour is restrictive compared to 1 and levelling is LONGGGGGG game tier bs. Ive only got level 3 gear 5.9hrs into it (mostly playing story and doing side quests too).
The beginning of the game is droned out, it could've been done a little better with storytelling and the main thing I don't like is the essence of pilgrims and ♥♥♥♥ - I think that piece of lore so far is kinda meh af, it reminds me of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ metro ngllllll. I do like the aspect that you have gear now, but so far the weaponry compared to Dying Light is fairly dull on the common scale, its useless garbo to get these common weapons and its just some ♥♥♥♥ to sell. but i got a hella cool unique medieval looking hammer that i pimped up and have been using majority of my playthrough without any need to change weapons. When ive progressed further, ill add a section to the review about my late-game experiences.


Controversy:
Denuvo is fine imo. Its ridiculous people are mad about the fact that they're trying to cut down on people pirating their game.... if youre mad for this reason, you are scum. Ofc, people less fortunate deserve to play - however, they can await a sale. I have an RX 280, I am playing under spec at decent fps and really not the most fortunate person in the world, nor the least. I understand people who pirate games, however if you simply cannot afford this game - wait for a sale or point in time when you can.
You can play this game with 2GB vram cards, its playable, its enjoyable, theres little issues with doing so.

Also Dying Light was not the most modded game out there, so dont ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that you care about mod support because mod support for Dying Light has basically never been a thing, nor current, does it need it. It does have multiplayer aspects and the likelihood is that a pvp esk mode will be put into the game at some point - so modding the game will break immersion for others if given the opportunity to in public sessions. people having their forms of game experience is what we should strive for as a community.

Opinions of the game are the same, tbf, its a really great game HOWEVER-
- MANY end-game bugs that are excessively interuptive with missions.
- Weapons are fairly meh, could be better tier. Theres not alot of variations to weapons and I think it should be more clear on what is a 1H / 2H instead of like long pole or something idfk, cause you see you sometimes use both hands and 1 hand too, so its kinda ♥♥♥♥ confusing on what stats effect those weapons with your gear.
- Range gear is absolutely pointless af tier, like OML - just go peacekeeper, get OP crossbow
- Bows do too little damage imo, they need increased since they do less damage than alot of that ♥♥♥♥, kinda defeating stealth killing like that.
- I do dislike how in DL1, virals were actually weaker health than normal zombies, but in this they seem higher health. Also in this topic, I dislike that the variables of virals has changed dramatically from DL1 to DL2 so it is no longer newly infected but just a further mutation.
- At this point of topic as above, I wanna extend this more to a criticism of the lore. They NEED to clarify that this is a variant strain of the infection that the GRE experimented with and THAT is why the variations and variables of known zombies have changed so much, including the infection process from DL1 to DL2. IMO, this is one of my most kinda edgy points cause like, its basic to me that they should make this a bigger deal than it actually is - OPENING the door for further sequels, DLCs, etc of different strains of the virus due to GRE testing. Cause it is mentioned that the GRE were testing the strain but its more of an observation that this strain that was the world ending outbreak, was modified by the GRE and not collected from Harran.
Also imo, they should really look alot more into including Dead Island into the Dying Light world. They exchanged companies a couple times but the amount of references to Dead Island is just <3.
I just wish the sequel would come along and join this zombie universe.

ALSO, it would actually be really cool to see a walking dead crossover with DL. The added lore to TWD is almost mimicking DL2 and it would be really cool to basically be like, yeah - theyre in the same universe and its just different strains on the continents since in TWD, running zombies are now being teased with French doctors similar to GRE being blamed for the outbreak and this apparent new strain. The 2 worlds are expanding with just such similarities that honestly make me REALLY excited for the future of zombie games, tv and movies.
