My personal favorite and the easiest Souls game thus far, I strongly recommend this if this is your first foray into Dark Souls. Don't worry about story continuity between the first two games, there really is none, since in the lore these games are all about cycles and starting the cycle over and over again.
I made my friend trigger Boreal Dancer early on her first playthrough.
