I absolutely love this game and the story so far!

I love it so much more than I thought I would! It plays well on steam deck, I did adjust the settings though as some of the foggy areas are TOO foggy on deck and the render distance is too short, but once I fixed that, no problems at all.

My only gripe is that some of the controller button symbols are too small on the deck screen, even when magnifying it doesn't make it clearer, just fuzzy, so an update to the onscreen controller options would be cool.

Anyways, I played about 5 hours, and on my last game a higher level player joined my match and gave me some good tips and information over the ingame voice chat, and was really nice and patient (even when I kept blowing myself up by holding a frag grenade just a microsecond too long, which he just chuckled at, it was pretty funny though).

It reminds me a bit of Deep Rock Galactic, but without the mining.

I don't know a dang thing about cars, but I like dismantling and reassembling thing. :)

I'll preface this review by saying that I've new to the Star Wars universe as Star Trek was the one I got into when I was younger. I bought this in 2022 and only started to play now near the end of June 2024 because I decided I wanted to try getting into Star Wars more (been enjoying the movies and shows!) Anyways, onto the review. If you're looking for a review from a diehard Star Wars fan who is very critical and knows everything, this isn't for you. If you're looking for a review of a fun time exploring a new universe, this is as I am new to the universe. :)

This game is an absolute blast. I see people complain about the EA launcher - it honestly isn't even an issue, just install the launcher and everything works fine. I think I can upgrade the version of my game from base to deluxe via the EA store too, which if it ever goes on sale I might do so I can look at the art book.

There are 4 planets to explore, which it doesn't sound like much but the worlds are HUUUUUUUGE and as you unlock more abilities there is even more to explore. Immensely detailed too. I do wish there was another one or two more I'll admit, but there's a lot of exploring to do for sure.

Playing with a controller feels so good, everything is responsive and feels intuitive too.

I've been enjoying the story, from Scrapper to a jedi who is remembering his powers after hiding them for so long. It's been a journey in more ways than one as Cal finds his true powers. I'm on chapter 5 of 6 right now and all I can say is that I'm glad that I bought this back then, even though I wasn't into Star Wars (it was a really good price, I was buying it to gift to a friend and then decided to get it for myself too as it was ridiculously cheap), I'm happy to experience this now.

I'm looking forward to picking up Jedi Survivor soon. Very excited for the other upcoming games too! I'm so glad I live in a time and am fortunate enough where I get to experience this. :)
