Although I'm not much into zombie games, at one point every game had a zombie mode or was about zombies and it was honestly getting very tiring. Same theme everywhere. 7 Days 2 Die somehow works for me, the zombies are fun, until you get a radiated screamer wondering about your tier five mission, that's just peachy, but what really make the game good is the crafting aspect of it.

The entire world can be destroyed, you got casual mining (you mine, smelt in the forge, get the stuff, easy stuff, there is some grind but with a few perks you can stock on raw materials rather fast), a variety of weapons although automatic ones will be the best once you can mass craft bullets, and then you have the quests.

Bloodmoons are cool, a good way to get a ton of XP as well as think on how to make your base and defend against large numbers of zombies charging at you with feasting intent. Crafting and basebuilding are two big aspects of the game.

The one thing that I do not like about bloodmoons though is that zombies know exactly where you are, you cannot hide because the game tells them your location. I would of liked to have the ability to sit one out. To make some kind of underground bunker or just hide in the bathtub, but that would make them very easy to exploit.

All in all, if you enjoy Minecraft, prefer casual PvEs and like doing various quests to get upgrades and other goodies, this is a game for you.

A rather short, but fun game. As others have mentioned, combat is not the strong suit as it can sometimes be difficult to know whether you are going to get hit or not, a general rule of thumb is to keep your distance from foes as this will allow you to easily see their attacks and dodge them with ease.

The storytelling and interactions is where this game shines. I like that you can pick how Ivan responds and this shapes his character, some picks are simply hilarious. Hearing an uninterested "Huh?" in a most serious situation just cracked me up. While the story is short, you can replay it multiple times making different choices and still have fun, this is a big plus.

Besides the story, you get a handful of side quests which both help shape your character and earn you rewards from the person giving you the quest and from exploring that area of the map. I like this a lot, as it contributes to the world building, but does not force you to do anything. If you want, you can skip these quests, however each of them has a unique set of interactions. Not to mention that along the way, you may encounter a few elderly women giving you riddles to solve hehe

Crafting, right, well, it took me a bit to figure out how to get ores so I can upgrade the anvil. While the combat is rather simple, the various enchantments you can put on your hammers makes it more interesting as you can go for different builds.

What I did find annoying is that you get a rune that makes your hammer harder to break. I was very happy with this until I found out that using it no longer alerts me when it's about to break. This has led me to losing a few hammers I was quite fond of.

After a while you can roam the different areas just for scavenging, if you are in need of more talismans (that you can sell) or ores, this is a way to get more. What I did was to commit to an abundant ore (copper) and salvage all other hammers that I found, I either used up until the nearly broke or just salvaged them at the 1st anvil I found. This allowed me to fully upgrade the anvil rather fast which made my weapons even more powerful. I kept repairing them over and over to keep the enchantments.

I appreciate bringing back the narrator, and all the funny ways Zagreus meets his inescapable and unfortunate fate. It's one of the highlights of the game :D

Hades has a good progression, various weapons to try out and even master if like the game a lot. The story progresses as you continually attempt to escape the Underworld and find your Mother until you do and.. well.. you'll need to play the game to find out what happens next.

I like the combination of different boons that you get from the various gods as well as the duo boons which basically combines bonuses from 2 gods, as well as the legendary ones that make you super powerful. On top of this, you have Chaos which gives you temporary curses for some really cool buffs!

It may get difficult the first few runs until you learn the game and finally get to beat the final boss, afterwards the game may start feeling a bit stale and not offer much of a challenge. The answer to this is the pact of punishment, this is something that SuperGiant has kept across all their games. A mechanic by which you can adjust the difficulty of the game to your liking, you can give buffs to the enemies making the game more challenging again and more engaging until you reach the epilogue.

If you liked Bastion, it is very likely you will like this game as well, you can play it for longer as you have the various boons that you can explore and combine in many ways, as well as a high number of challenges to do while you progress the story.

I like the turn-based approach of this game, I do not generally play turn-based games, however in Transistor you can begin your turn at any point which gives you the chance to place a number of actions that are carried out almost instantaneous.

Something that I do not like about it are disrupts, not the mechanic itself, but rather how the game handles it. You can see the area where you would get disrupted, but it's not clearly delimited as you may walk close to it and say "hey, I'm not touching it" and still get kicked out. When the effect fades it may still be active although you cannot see it which is quite annoying as you do not know you will get disrupted and you do not have the ability to go back, it kicks you out of turn planning.

The sandbox area is really cool, I enjoyed the tests and I think that's the place where I did the most exploring of different ability combinations, and that's also the place where I found the OP combinations. After that point the game gets a bit boring as you can basically cheese your way. Even with all limiters active, harder difficulty, you can just get away with hardly a scratch. It only takes longer.

This brings me to the conclusion, the game is fun until you figure out the ability combinations, after that it gets boring. The story does not have a lot of depth unfortunately, there's a lot of mystery around what "The Process" is, how it came to be, what it actually is and how the Transistor fits into all of it. The ending is anticlimactic and extremely predictable to the point where you are not sure whether that is it, but yeah.

I would of liked more story development, that would of made me like the game more, however that's not there and what you mostly got is the game mechanics which are quite cool until you figure out how to cheese your way through any situation and then it gets boring.

If you get home from work and have some brain capacity to listen to a podcast but still feel the need to be doing something, this is great for that.

You can catch up with all your podcasts and drive a truck around Europe starting your little logistics company. It's perfect.

Beautiful visuals and music, a fantastic world that was built to convey an interesting story with action and platformer elements. I liked the twist when you find out why Kuro is after you and makes one question who is the real villain, who started it.

Although some areas were a bit more difficult and I had to do multiple tries to get past them, I did enjoy them in the end as there is challenge and the joy of overcoming the challenge. I really appreciate that it's not a hard-core platformer, but rather a more easy one that I can actually enjoy most of the time.

I like the additions from the standard edition, there are a few more abilities that you can use that make the game more interesting and some areas easier to get past. We get glimpses of the wisps and Naru and it makes more sense why Naru welcomed Ori and took care of them.

Really cool concepts, I like the narration of the story and how the story is being told while completing a level and the little details around the training grounds as well as the different actions you take during a level like falling over a cliff.

The visuals and how the map builds itself as you go around is really cool, I like that as you do not exactly see where you are going. The path is being built for you as you walk.

As you progress and upgrade your weapons it may become a little to easy and you find yourself darting through each level without it being much of a challenge. The answer to this are idols, you can invoke idols to increase the difficulty of the game to your liking as you play.

When the story-mode levels are easy even with idols, you have the training grounds where you get materials to upgrade your weapons, as well as secrets that allow you to cast some crazy attacks.

Finally, you have the dreams which get gradually more difficult. Once again, if it gets too easy you need only add more idols.
