I enjoyed my time with it and I'm sad to see the contempt devs have for the old playerbase to cater to some people who will never touch it. Not to mention removing stuff from the artbook, which I paid for.

Hands down the best game in the soulsborne series, they went above and beyond to craft a beautiful world that feels alive at every corner, which is something other open world games often fall short. The bosses I've fought have been some of the craziest encounters I've had, and with the music to match.
My only major gripe is the performance issues that plague the game and lack of proper PC support.

Amazing soundtrack by Mili and gorgeous visuals that blend together to create a gloomy, yet beautiful atmosphere. There's a stark contrast between Lily's purity and your undead companions in an unforgiving world that adds to the experience. You are left to piece together the story through notes you find and descriptions of your spirits or relics as you journey to undo the Blight.

The gameplay starts simple, but has a natural progression through key items and increases in depth with the spirits you acquire and the combination of relics you possess. I found the platforming enjoyable, and in the later half of the game you have plenty of freedom to approach certain maps. Vertical movement is limited to your double jump where grapple points aren't available, but there are ways to include spirits for some advanced tech. This is especially important for some of the trickier puzzles. There's good variance in the enemy design, with plenty of bosses to boot that will offer a decent challenge, and provided you've chosen to satisfy your curiosity and explore, you will have a good deal of tools at your disposal.

Overall a well-crafted experience with a lot of passion put towards storytelling, exploration, and art style.
