Underrated gem, takes a few hours to get into a stride but once it gets there the quality of gameplay gets exponentially better. Once you can take on hordes, have an upgraded bike, and iron out your survival strategies the game becomes absolutely fantastic.

Pros
-Weapons, the Player, and his bike start out weak, but by the end of the game become strong. (Player progression is noticeable.)
-Beautiful setting, wonderful voice acting, and great immersion.
-Gameplay can go from cat and mouse, and back again depending on your preparedness.
-The main two characters in the game have fantastic chemistry and I do buy their brotherhood.
-Bike gameplay is both fun and unique, upgrading and maintaining it builds a certain attachment to it I appreciated.
-Weapon variety is great, but having more unique differentiating factors play a part would have been nice.

Neutral
-Gas management can get a bit tedious, but it is understandable.
-Certain resources are crazy abundant, while others are so rare that you may not want to part with certain consumables.
-Crafting system/ commerce is somehow both overdeveloped and bare bones. Trust system makes sense, but kinda falls on it's face when it comes to the narrative.

Cons
-Certain characters just kinda suck.
-Slow start, and could definitely trim the length.
-Early game weapons are really boring/terrible to use.
-Drip feed of content(weapons, equipment, bike parts, etc) is too slow.

Despite my gripes. I do really love this game, Deacon is a fantastic protagonist. The story is a story of loyalty, brotherhood, and staying true to what you hold dear. Not perfect, but these things rarely are. It feels bloated in some areas, and too skinny in others.

8.5/10

EDIT: I cannot believe I forgot to mention that there's a Challenge mode, and New Game+ as well as a few more extreme difficulties if you're into that. The Challenge mode gives the player a set of various scenarios to run through, from time trials, a crazy taxi style challenge, to horde and human camp clearing, there's a wide range of replayable missions here.

You can even gain rewards in the challenge mode like more efficient stamina, better healing, and faster gas fill ups by clearing them with at least a bronze medal.

You forgot a pro: Nobody in the game is immune

I find it dumb how fictional stories sometime say there are people who are immune to the virus, like Left 4 Dead, World War Z or Dying Light, however Days Gone completely throws that concept out the window, it's not a big pro, but the little "Screw that concept, it's just an excuse for plot armor" is a nice touch
