The game is balanced around four people, so playing with any less than that is handicapping yourself. This is fine for me as I don't expect to be balanced around playing solo in a co-op team game as it is a niche way to play. However, they decided to ramp up spawns the less players you have, for some reason, in an update that comes off as spiteful to me. While I don't expect the game to be made easier for my niche playstyle, making it specifically harder is baffling to me. I prefer solo play, even over getting a four man with my friends, to take things at my own pace and do not like this change. Additionally, the game crashes often so even if you pull yourself through the challenge it can simply decide to stop working. It gets worse if you have synch issues as when connecting with a friend with a poor connection I would constantly get games where the spawns and objectives would simply stop on defense missions and reinforcements would no longer work on offensive missions. But even with perfectly fine connections the game will either send you back to the destroyer or outright hard crash to desktop. So when I do get my friends together it is often a bug ridden mess that ends in us going to bed after yet another crash sends one or two of us out of the fight ruining the mission. I was willing to overlook these flaws as it is a game with a lot of heart but if the devs are going to change the game to tell me to ♥♥♥♥ off I guess I will? It does, to its credit, still have that heart so if you have a group of four or a rotation you enjoy playing and all of you have reliable internet I'm sure you'll still enjoy it. I guess you could also play with randos. If you're into that. I'm not, so I'm not a fan of the direction the game is going into.

You get to do funny he hoo combos and other nonsense with cards. If that sounds appealing to you I'd say this is worth your time.

Incredible game despite the fact that you can feel that they didn't play test anything. Not a fan of items and alt. moves locked behind providence trials instead of run achievements which is not helped by the trails ranging in difficulty to neat gimmick to deranged insanity. Don't look forward to playing artificer in any capacity with this title.
I had a lot of fun despite outright hating the mentioned parts of this game, so if you have enough self control to simply not select the parts of the game you don't like you'll love this game. I don't, and I still like the game.

Good taunt mechanics.

My horse was teleported to next to a campfire during a story mission and then died when it walked into a bonfire. Second horse died carrying a legendary pelt when it decided to turn diagonal for no reason next to a train. Horses pulling the wagon for the building the house quest died when the wagon suddenly shot into the air when it hit a rock wrong at a break-neck 2 mph. Very anti-horse game.

Has cool bugs (the animal kind) as plot points. Recommend.

Not worth your time or money. If you are not running the sweatest metaperks you will lose on either side of the game. Even if both sides gimp themselves for no reason in an attempt to have fun RNG will ♥♥♥♥ you over with skill checks popping the same time you let go of a gen, bugs and strange hit reg giving absurd hits or taking away clear hits at vaults and windows, and your teammates sometimes just deciding to grief you even to no benefit to themselves if you have the audacity to not have three other friends to subject this painful experience to.

Animal husbandry update fixed a lot of issues I had with the game. Had some fun and I haven't even gotten to the animal husbandry yet so I will revise my review. Small spoilers: explore and find an area with a water filter or metal pot, that's going to be one of the most important things. And try and build a campfire with a roof over it asap, the ash you get from letting a campfire burn out naturally will unlock a lot of crafting.

You look up from your starting hand. You have three sets of pliers. You pick one up, and stare your captor in the eyes as you rip a tooth out of your own mouth before setting it on the scale between you two. Not because you are about to lose, but because your squirrels all have backpacks and you want to get the most value out of them. You play a squirrel. It gives you a set of pliers. The pain is temporary.

TA has a ten second pseudo global teleport this patch, wait for nerf
