F**k you Microsoft!

For an April Fools joke, this game is actually really good!

Edit: Okay so I decided to play some more Sonic Forces with mods and I'll admit; it's made the game a bit more enjoyable for me. Everything else in my review; I still stand by.

After playing almost 4 hours of Sonic Forces, I can honestly say that this game isn't really good at all. It had some interesting concepts here and there, but overall, it ends falling flat on its face.

The levels felt very uninspired. Most of the time, you'll just be boosting through enemies , running down straight paths, and sections where you are just mowing down robots because yeah, that's fun. There's even moments where you have to react to something in like less than a second or else, you die because that's great level design!

Graphics wise, I think this is one of the better looking Sonic games out. Especially for stage 2 and stage 6.

As far as the music is concerned, there were quite a few that I liked such as Fist Bump, Sunset Heights, Park Avenue and probably a few other tracks that I don't know the names of.

The controls were godawful. It's so stiff and makes simple task such as jumping from one platform to another really difficult. Now even though I did say that the levels were uninspired, it felt like they were made with a much better control scheme in mind. And the result was this mess.

Now for story, it was just a mess. The setting interesting, the whole Eggman taking over the world after defeating Sonic, but it seemed like the writing itself didn't want to take risks at adding darker elements to the story so it just ends up feeling like you're reading some sort of fan-fic. And none of the characters really seem to understand the gravity of any situation. Like when Knuckles launches "Operation: Big Wave", (Which is take the fight to Eggman in which he thought for about a minute and a half.) what ends happening is is that eighty percent of the forces were wiped out and they've lost contact with the rest. (Probably dead or just left because they didn't want to be in this game.) And yet the character just treat like "oh well, guess we'll do better next time."

Now for the avatar, I actually liked it, the idea of having your custom character was pretty neat! Yes, I know the whole Deviantart for the Sonic OC is infamous, I understand, but putting that aside, it was interesting concept and one that wasn't executed poorly for once.

Overall, Sonic Forces had some interesting ideas but it never came together and just feels one and done for me and something I just can't recommend. Of course, if you really want to play it for whatever reason, I'd wait for a price drop or for this game to go on sale because forty bucks right now isn't worth, for a game that you can beat in like three hours.

Don't get me wrong, Left 4 Dead is a good game but you're better off getting Left 4 Dead 2 since all the maps from this game are in Left 4 Dead 2.

As much as I like the Special Ops pack, I'm going to have to downvote only because it is literally just reskin of the STAG vehicles. I don't really see that as a good reason to charge three bucks for it.

It is a pretty cool level, I just wished it was a little bit longer than like 20 minutes.

Remind me why this got greenlight again...
