Morning guys. I might have found a fix / work around for the black screen problem.

Steam > Settings > In-Game

In-Game server browser: Max pings / minute

Drop it to around 500.

It should fix the black screen issue. Please let me know if it works for you guys. If not I will keep looking.

There will be server down time sometime today or tomorrow. I'll post the times once I get them. We're moving the servers to a new node. Lately lag has become an issue so a fresh node will sort all of that out.

After the latest ARK update there seems to be a global crashing issue. So please understand that the server may crash today. We're waiting for a fix but you guys know how long the ark devs and mod devs can take to fix something

Hi guys! I'll be updating the server in 30 minutes.

Our hosts are taking the servers down for maintenance today. Servers will be up and down for around 12 hours. Do not attempt to play during this time. Any loss of progress ect is your own problem, you've been warned.

I Have a good PC but it must be something in the background of my pc that's runing or something new on the main mod my FPS is suffering I finally got in and only got 1/3 of what I normally get and changing all my video setting to low seemed to not change anything. So I might stay off the server for a while and maybe the problem will fix it's self out over time

Oh oops, I thought that was only on the other servers. There hasn't been any changes to mods since before I went away. But yeah, there's a big problem with the size of the Extinction mod. If you look at the workshop page there are tons of complaints about loading times. When we first put it on we couldn't even load it onto the server without the hosts help. It kept timing out and cancelling the upload.

I'll check the file size and see if anything changed on that end when I get home.

Then it's something on your side. I know someone on the server playing on an ancient pc and he is able to get in 1st try even though it takes long to load.

Isn't there a castle mod on the server to I'm sure I saw something like that the last time I played :S I'll retry joining again but it should DC me 5 times in a row when I try to join maybe once or twice but I can barly get in these days :O

All of the mods on the server are very small and wouldn't make a difference at all. Nothing has been added in the past 8 days so I really don't think it's a problem with the mods other than extinction which is 3gb. There are 9 others that are all between 3 and 80mb.

Which ones don't people use? They're all pretty standard.

Do you use a SSD and there are a few mods that no one is using that could be removed to make the server run smother for anyone with a low end PC

it's the main mod causing the long load time. and it loads in around 30 seconds..not sure why you say that's long xD lol

I think the server might have a little to many mods installed, the game takes almost forever to load in and when I get in it's for 1 second and then I get kicked out back to the main menu wasn't like this in the start the server feels like it's getting slower and slower everytime I come on to play

I was in the swamp on my mantis fighting some red tribe men when steam crashed so aslong as the servers are going to be down for a while I guess I should be save just make sure to do a dino wipe when everything is fixed don't want to lose my new dino right after I got it XD

I need you guys to be aware of an issue with dedicate non official servers after the latest update. It seems the devs have broken something, so for the time being the servers will be down until the issue is patched/fixed. Not quite sure what the problem is but you can head over to the ark forum or steam forums and go see all the complaints.

As soon as it's patched I'll bring the servers back up.

I guess disabling it didn't work. We'll just have to wait for the extinction update. :(

I saw the leech before and after the server crashed from what I'm guessing it crashes the server if you get close to it and it agro's on you nothing bad happend when I looked at it from far away the first time we might have walked into it making the server lose it's head.

Pancakes put it back up right after it crashed. Did you see the Leech? I tried to disable it. :(

Hey me and Red got dc cause of super leech now we cant join in cause server think we are still logged in

The Ice tribe should be a hard tribe to kill but their no where to be found anywhere I can only find the ice chief stuck in ice but no other members except the ones he spawns but the can't be tammed or hold any loot.

It's not a bug. They spawn random and If there's enough tribesmen on the map new ones won't spawn. My guess is the easier ones are getting killed off and the harder ones are spawning in and staying alive so they aren't being replaced.

Things seem to be spawning better now except I still can't find any green, yellow or ice tribe members on the map D: Bug?

For some reason the dino spawn level went back to normal. I fixed it now so hopefully that will help.

Did you change the spawn rates or something it seems that almost nothing is spawning on the map back haven't seen the yellow, Green and Ice tribes around for a few days and the blue tribe is starting to get rare to see too? Or are some of the other new mods conflicting with the main mod?

I think mods that make taming easier like ark advance with the 30cc dartz wont work cause the mod creator of extinction may have made it like that it was the same with annunaki where if you use dinos from other mods they would just die while fighting annunaki bosses

I took it off the server for now. There are a bunch of mods that aren't compatable with Extinction atm.

Omg. I don't know if anything will protect you from a manticore but I'll raise the levels to see if it helps.
