Petition from Steam community group owners to Valve

A singular feature request that benefits; Valve, group owners, & users.
Steam community should be thriving with user activity but group leaders lack the ability to invite gamers from around the web. Valve (and Steam community group leaders) need a modern invite URL code/link system to attract and retain more potential customers(/users)!

What Steam needs:
The ability to generate invite codes/links to our groups, like Discord.

Desired Examples:
http://steamproxy.com/groups/examplename/join - When group set as Public
http://steamproxy.com/groups/examplename/join/xSa3X - Generated codes, Limited # of uses

The 3 phases of this group, to alleviate any concerns:
1. Request support from at least 100 group owners. The 1st time we'll contact you.
2. Write a tactfully written proposal for this single feature request to Valve and share amongst group owners before sending to Valve. I won't send the message until a majority of group owners approve of the message. 2nd time we'll contact you.
3. Contact Valve, await their response, and update this group. 3rd & final time we'll contact you.
... We will not spam or engage in spammy/whiny tactics to get our way.

Uncommon (thankfully, but still unconstructive) responses:
- "Our group is big enough"
More members and an easier "group joining" process would only benefit you.
- "We'll show our support once you gain more traction"
If everyone had this mindset then this would never gain said traction.
- "Bots will get worse"
Players will keep ignoring bot msgs.

I can relate to your frustration but cursing Valve won't get us a solution

It's HELL trying to start a group now other than just for friends. I literally have to ADD people and then invite them and keep track of who I'm adding for my own sake and tag them with nicknames and why I added them. Tons of missed opportunity in networking. ♥♥♥♥ VALVE>

I wish but kept running into group owners who could not innately comprehend the value. No matter how concise or reframed & thus my addition of the "3 phases" & "Uncommon responses" above.

Also, I've been busy since early December (about two weeks after starting this group) and couldn't justify the time spent persuading people of something objectively in their best interest.

... BOTTOM LINE: I do plan to return to group owner recruitment "soon". Perhaps in 1-3 months?

It was a lot easier to do this, once again, when you could invite anyone. I had a group for valve fixing it's INCREDIBLY damaging server refresh bug for 3rd party mods years ago. I've TRIED to kick everyone out of the group but it's so much work. I think I had a couple thousand. http://steamproxy.com/groups/FIX_IT_NOW_VALVE

Thank you guys for your support! Also, I'm optimistic that the list of supporters will grow quite long and because of the 3k character limit, I'd like to keep one group per owner in the front page description. :spazdreaming:
However, I will make a discussion thread tonight with a list of all supporting groups you own! :steamhappy:

I'd also like us to keep this fairly low-key between group owners in order to get the best chance of approval by Valve since one petition can lead to another and another. :spazwinky:
