So the Modular Utility Boat is ready, although it takes a bit of setting up to use:

To Engage a tool
1. Turn On Ship Merger group
2. Engage desired tool
3. Turn Off Landing Gear Auto Lock
4. Disengage Landing Gear
5. Lift Off
6. Equip Tool
7. Engage Connectors (with Landing Gear out of parking range)

To Disengage a tool
1. Turn On Landing Gear Auto Lock
2. Land
3. Turn Off Ship Merger Group
4. Disengage Connectors

The steps seems daunting at first, but a few quick hotkeys makes it fairly painless. Please follow this guide to avoid hurling tools into the icy blackness of empty space. Happy spenging!

Ran a load of Au and Ag this morning. As always, need more Fe. Asteroid chewer is close to being a reality, could use a billion more thrusters. Also should consider heavy plating around top station connector to avoid thruster damage during docking operations (Thruster Damage during Docking Operations is the name of my kink show).
