Pre-matchmaking pugs and scrims

This group has been dead for a long time. It may not remain dead forever, but I currently have no plans of returning to TF2.

A lot of people are worried that matchmaking is going to be 6v6 with no weapon bans whatsoever and no class limits. I feel we should nip that in the ass and just get started with it.

All pug scheduling is now done on the forum.

1. No hacking.
2. Don't trash-talk. I won't police your language at all, but don't deliberately make other people feel unwelcome. It's not your place.

END OF RULES. Say what you want, play what you want. Outside of cheating, do whatever it takes to win.

1. 6v6 no limits whatsoever
2. 3v3 bball, 1 of each: medic, soldier, scout -- testing two different whitelists
3. 5v5/6v6 bball (on ctf_ballin_mountain), 2 scouts, 2 soldiers, 1 demo, 1 medic -- no loadout restrictions

The 3v3 bball is how we used to practice fast-paced DM. It's fun!
The 6v6 bball on that map is more of a test. I don't know if it'll work out or not.

Zero leagues in TF2 actually matter. From the game's release until now, every single league involving this game has been ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Valve plans to compete with Blizzard's new Overwatch, meaning if matchmaking has a successful takeoff, they might make their own league in the same vein as Dota. The cold, hard truth is players in TF2 (even the very top tier) just aren't good enough to amuse the masses of the community the same way as Dota's elite.

The reason for this is because 6s has created an elitist community with popular opinions, throwing around buzz words like "viable" (where they don't know what the ♥♥♥♥ it even means) to establish their fragile little meta. Pug groups, pug.me, tf2center, tf2pickup, IRC and forum scrim teams all unanimously frown on playing real TF2 and will ban you or refuse to play with you if that's what you choose to do.

I would like to give you an outlet to try new things in preparation for the game to change. I have plenty of U.S. servers to do it with (will consider EU as well if the N.A. one takes off again).

It would be nice if this group became big enough for people to form their own premade teams and issue scrim challenges. Realistically, that probably won't happen. BUT, I will still place a forum in the Discussions area just for that.

...You should probably make sure to subscribe to the forums. Get my attention if you want to be a moderator and host events.

This group needs many people in order to succeed. Please invite everyone you can.
