In light of the success of RACE '07, there are still many out there who play the original game. Come along if you want a good race.

For anyone wishing to host their own dedicated servers on RACE, just open the following ports on your router and forward them to your local IP:

48942 - 48957 UDP/TCP
26900 - 26907 UDP

Make sure you select LAN on the upload limit, or the server will lag. RLS is hosted on a 2.0 GHz AMD Turion X2 (a laptop chip) with 2GB of RAM, so you really don't need powerful hardware to run a 25-car server. All you need is a quick connection.

Usual meeting times for online play are
16:00 - 17:00 GMT
19:00 - 20:00 GMT

The RLS server will be down for a few days, so rest assured if you think it's gone forever.

If someone asks nicely, either Soda-cz or The Stig will fill in for the mean time.

Of course, you all know the ports to forward to on your router (as shown on the main page), so feel free to host your own server whilst RLS is inactive. Remember, if it's your server, it's your rules; so by all means set lap number, car class and weather of your choice & play around with the race time too (a luxury which is duly absent from RACE '07). Most importantly, don't forget to always check that your server is joinable, by going into the internet lobby & verifying the ping: if it says 5000, go back & check your ports. This is why it's easier to use the dedicated server utility.

The return of RACE's Last Stand

Some of the regulars may have noticed that RLS hasn't been running over the summer months. This is because of little access to high-speed internet, although The Stig & soda tried to fill in on the hosting during this period of inactivity.
Luckily, RACE's Last Stand is once again back up & running and efforts will be made to keep it on 24 Hrs. With this in mind, I look forward to some good online racing in the upcoming months.

Hi PDubbs, although I haven't used the Seat recently myself, you prompted me to start driving with it again ! I used a tweaked setup from the Chevy and mucked around with some tyre pressures and spring stiffnesses, resulting in the following two configurations:
Monza Seat León setup {LINK REMOVED}
Macau Seat León setup {LINK REMOVED}

Remember that each setup is taylored for a specific track/car/driver/conditions combination, so you should watch out for that. For instance, don't be surprised if you churn out slower lap times if you're using the long-geared Macau setup on Puebla (although this should be obvious to you by now, with 190+ hrs on the clock).

If you're wondering how to make use of these files, simply drop them into your RACE directory:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\"YourUserName"\race\UserData\"YourProfileName"\CarSetups
I have no idea if that'll work, as I've never tried importing setups. Let us know how you get along.
