It is the end...

Dear players,

This has been a long ride along with you. Yes, I am talking to you. To the player who is reading this announcement because that means you have cared about our community. Thank you that you have been here with us, we as PLAY IT OR DIE staff really appreciate it. However, this is also going to be the last announcement we will ever create. Because PLAY IT OR DIE will shut down all services on 30th April 2019 and will no longer exist.

Trust me, this decision was not easy. We really love this project. But to put you to the picture, we have been here for over two years and it has been no longer easy for D3NY and me to maintain the project and make sure everything keeps running smoothly with additional updates. Just check our last announcements. It really breaks our hurts to see where this server would come. We have been trying to do the best but other projects and our real life duties do not allow us to do so. *It has just been about the time to move forward.*

The most used game server, CS:GO Hide and Seek / Maniac, has been here with us since 11th February 2017 and it was supposed to be only a server for me and my friends (the server was actually a small gift for my dear friend KILL MAN who has been making Hide and Seek / Maniac maps). We really loved playing Hide and Seek and it was our dream to have an own server. And that became real. With only 13 slots we started playing Hide and Seek and were also inviting our other friends. Day by day random people started joining us. It was a real fun to finally have a place where we can play together because at the time there were not many servers like this one.

It is also worth to mention that D3NY has not been here from the initial release. He was only providing me the server, the place where I can play with my friends. But as he saw the server is actually becoming popular, he came with an idea for a gaming community; for players like we are, providing fun modes which you could hardly find any servers for. That is how PLAY IT OR DIE was created on 10th June 2017. And with this release we also came with 24 slots, lately with 32 slots. That was something really incredible for me!

Later the year in the summer we were facing the biggest success of only this one server! It was full for almost the whole summer, that is 32 players all the time! That was so crazy and I cannot still believe that. But since that, it has been going down with us ...

2018 was not really successful and it was the year when our activity started decreasing. I was focusing on other big project, namely TruckersMP (I am their developer if you did not know!), when I got a chance to join them. Do not take me wrong, PLAY IT OR DIE was still a project that I loved. However, as you may know, Valve made a lot of steps which the community did not agree with and we lost a lot of players. That made me incredibly sad since I could do nothing against it and I rather chose the project which can give me real experience for the future.

Briefly to mention, this year we had to change our provider and thus, we made the amount of slots lower (we came again to 24 slots only). And with our last maintenance we lost almost the whole community we had before. I understand it took us a long time. But there was none for us, believe me or not.

In those past 2 years, we also came with CS:GO servers like Trouble in Terrorist Town, Last Man Standing and MiniGames. On top of it, we have also been running a quite successful TeamSpeak3 voice server. And additionally, we made a website that has been used by a lot of users and through which we were managing our staff and servers.

As I wrote above, PLAY IT OR DIE will no longer exist after 30th April 2019 since we have other projects to work on and they take our all time. I am going to fully move to a trucking community (not gonna lie, I have already been doing it for a year) and D3NY, the owner of this project, is going to work into a big company. As I want to keep his privacy, I am not going to mention it.

PLAY IT OR DIE was an awesome project and we really enjoyed doing it. It took us a lot of money from our students' pockets (to be honest, we have not made any profit; we have lost a lot of money) but it gave us a lot of joy. We both (D3NY and I) gained some experience on the team management and things we both were doing (D3NY with servers, me with coding stuff for servers).

But namely, I want to thank these people:

• D3NY for managing servers, the team and ... everything. He has always been here for me and the project and just words cannot describe how much he spent for this project
  
• KILL MAN for his ideas and making all maps we have been using on our Hide and Seek / Maniac server
  
• Fish Gyros for being with us for all the time, helping with managing the team and doing the admin work on servers, additionally for donating us some skins
  
• Richi for being somebody who kept an eye on the whole team we had and helping us with managing servers and the community
  
• release for being such an awesome guy who spent every minute into this server as those two kind guys above. release was not with us for a long time but I am really thankful for his work

Fish Gyros, Richi and release were only those who achieved the position of the Community Manager. It is a real success, thanks!
Additionally, a really huge thank belongs to our staff team and all people who helped us with the admin work. I cannot believe that so many of you wanted to help us, that is incredible! Thank you!
And at the end, I really want to thank every player that connected to our servers. Each of you affected our lives and we will for sure not forget those who spent days on our servers. You have been amazing!

These are my last words. I want to thank you for reading this, for being with us and choosing our services. Without you it would never be what it has been like - a successful project with a nice community. And I will never forget it.
