Hey everyone, we just released a huge new patch for ns2c. Here are a few highlights:

*The movement has been readjusted
*New chamber voting system for the alien team, allowing teams to vote what chamber to use in the beginning. Currently you press X to vote.
*Acid rockets, spores, umbra and more got back their ns1 sounds.
*The awesome ns1 music is back!

Been having awesome time playing with you guys recently and I can't wait to play more games with the new patch :).

Hello everyone, been awhile. We just set up a eu classic server to see how much interest there is for the mod these days. There are few bugs after all the patches but Dragon has been working hard on fixing them. If we see some activity we will keep working on it :).
The server has been surprisingly active past 2 days but we would like to see it grow larger. But to do so we need your help. If you would love to play some awesome ns1 games again please support us by simply playing the mod :).

I will start posting some events soon as well to help bring players together. But considering how active the server has been it has not been needed.

Starting from ~6:30 EST (30 minutes) we will be having some games of NS2c, should anyone care to join.
NS2:C Classic Mod #1 [MODDED] - 76.72.172.196:27015

- The main goal of this patch was the reworking of the movement system again, with Maesse completely re-creating movement from GoldSource.

- Also added with this change was an AdvancedMovement option, which currently is off by default just eliminates forward inputs when strafing and airborne. When switched on, the inputs and movement will work like HL1.


For bug fixes and changes this patch mainly fixes some small bugs preventing the mod from working correctly.
- Added TRES to Marine HUD.
- Fixed error when attempting to damage anything.
- Fixed deluxe model conflicting with heavy armor model.
- Adjusted speeds of all classes to bring more in line with NS1.

With this patch we also would like to welcome Maesse to the team, who is solely responsible for the re-creation of the goldsource movement code.

Finally the first patch after 1.0 has been released. Here is the changelog:

-Updated mod for Release Build of NS2.
-Fixed rare bug with structure placement that could prevent a round from ending.
-Adjusted Marine welding speed.
-Adjusted Hand Grenades to make them more useful.
-Tweak arc splash radius to eliminate mass extermination of structures in range.
-Adjusted knockback and view jar on hit for marines.
-New Spore and Umbra Cinematics.
-New LMG Cinematic.
-Re-Added lerk spikes as dev weapon.
-Corrected issues with devour, still dev weapon.
-Added ability and upgrade notifications back on structure and hive completion.
-Corrected issues with dropping alien or marine rts with nearby structures.
-Adjusted spread calculations for marine weapons.
-Added first person motion tracking icon.
-Corrected issue with armor values not updating on crag construction/death.
-Reverted focus change to original method with bug fixes.
-Major changes to base movement system for all classes.
-Adjusted movement mechanics to work correctly with move merge system.
-Changed Phasegate and IP knockback strengths.
-Changed Phasegate to require use for phasing.
-Completed Electrify upgrade for extractors.
-Lots more changes, and small balance tweaks lost in between the 80+ test builds run.



Hopefully this patch will bring more balance to the Marine/Aliens, and now that the game is officially released, also bring in more players. These movement changes have been in the works for a while, but with the massive changes in B224/225 a lot of things ended up not working quite as well as expected, so continue to expect further revisions and improvements over time.
