Joining a new clan can be a very exciting experience. Getting to meet a bunch of new people, to be apart of something new. So on and so forth.

But there are certain ways that you should approach it. Every clan worth its name, is looking for a few certain things.

Loyalty, a pleasant personality, skill. Again so on and so forth and now I am sure you have them all in overwhelming quantity. But there are always certain things you should always seek to avoid when seeking a spot in a clan.

These are the - DO NOT'S of Joining a Clan

Firstly, a special thanks to Deon for being an unwitting example.

Now to the post.

So as I mentioned there are a few things you want to avoid.


So here is a statement made by Deon to Bunny. Lets look at it

Now is there anything good about this statement? No.

As someone who would be looking at him as a potential candidate this is screaming disloyal.

Not only is he in 2 other clans, one of which is of his own making but he is also saying that he doesn’t care if he gets in or not.

If he doesn’t care, what guarantee is there that he will stick around during a dry spell.

Nothing.

Second problem, he isnt a star player. We didnt approach him. He approached us.

By saying that he had other options. He is suggesting he is worth fighting over. He isn't (no offense intended), had we approached him and had SV also done so it would be a different story.

That wasn't the case

Second Statement

Now in this case DF has a one clan only policy, the fact that he just said he wasn't willing to follow said rule is an immediate, no.

In short. If you are seeking to join a clan. Don’t think you will be the exception to the rules, because 90% of the time you'll very be disappointed.

What to do when Seeking to join a Clan?

Be Polite.

Manners can carry a person very far online.

A simple." Yeah, me too." Would have worked wonderful. Yelling, caps, whatever is unnessesary and rude. Remember you approached them, not the other way around.

But for the most part just be yourself. If you are normally like Deon here, well gl in your future endeavors. : )
