Hi there, latest news from Aztec Empire's Dev.

Hi all,

I'm so sorry for not being more active and even more so, not announcing some more positive news already but it's kind of been a tough time in the recent past and I'm still trying to get everything sorted out and prepared for a more steady progress while still working on the game.

So, what's the state of the game/project

- Fabrice and me did agree on the separation and I'll be able to use all the existing assets while working on the game
- I am in communication with artists who may join the project as a replacement for Fabrice. Sadly no decision made by now as it's a tough problem given it's not a tiny pixelart platformer or a gamejam alike project but a serious project that, as a whole, requires multiple full-time years of work.
- at the same time, as a commercial game this is still a tiny project. Nevertheless it's still hard to find someone with the required skills *and* financial freedom *and* accepting the risk to go all in on such a project
- I keep working on the game each day and really hope I'll be able to post some more positive news sooner than later!

Of course I also did some work on the actual game and I aim to release a new version early next month. I had to work on some tasks that have been postponed for a long time already, like moving to the most recent version of the framework the game is built with (so far it was based on the previous major version released in 2016) which required to update the code in many areas.

I also worked on a sports event system for the big Tlatchtli arena which is a big event requiring time, resources workforce, is something you can and will actively watch happening on the map. I also started to work on the actual high level city simulation which was basically non existing so far.
There's still a lot to do but the game will start to feel more like an actual challenge as, so far, all you needed to do to attract immigrants was to mark housing tiles.

So ... even though it's a bit slowed down I hope you're all still interested in the game and once I'll start posting new version I'll do so much more often than in the last few months.

Kickstarter Campaign is trending now along with Aztec Empire Demo! :)

Dear Aztecs Followers!

Kickstarter Campaign is trending now! The campaign started as promised on 1 June and after only four days it has more than 20% goal reached!

Developers shared the demo version so you can check for yourself the current game's progress. As with any early-stage game there are many things to be improved like UI, some language errors, in-game messages, buildings descriptions, scrolling but it's nothing major or game-breaking and we're full of hope those things will be fixed and devs will deliver interesting, challenging, rich in content game!

Check out also comments left by current backers to see what needs fixing and changed to be more player-friendly. Devs Team is open to constructive feedback and players' ideas.

If you decide to back up this project you'll be able to leave your feedback as well

Atzec Empire devs launched a few days ago their first official website with an announcement about starting a Kickstarter Campaign!

Kickstarter Campaign will last from 1 June 2020 till 1 July 2020.

On the launch day of Aztec Empire Kickstarter devs will provide a free Demo of Aztec Empire so we can take a closer look at the game ourselves. More importantly, all of the supporters will receive current dev-version as Early Access. (!!!)
