ABOUT ARMA Malaysia

We have been playing ARMA ever since from the ARMA 2 and several of the members were dated back in the times of Operation Flashpoint. A proper Facebook Group was created and has since grew to 481 members and an average players of 30 on an operation day, usually during weekends.

Mainly we striving for an authentic gameplay within the community, but we do play plenty of other gametypes such as Altis Life, King of the Hill, Wasteland, Epoch, Exile and many more.

We host our own game server with selection of mods as well as having own uniform, Malaysia Armed Forces mod. We also utilise our own TeamSpeak server in order to achieve better communication between members. In the past we hosted a joint milsim operation between the Asian communities such as ARMA Philippines, ARMA Thailand, ARMA Indonesia, ARMA Singapore "Task Force Badger) and ARMA Japan.

INTEL #003 - Internet Viral, Gameplay Mechanic & SPARTAN

Good morning,

Recently ARMA Malaysia received new members over the board on Facebook Group for the internet viral of a Facebook page called Malaysia Military Power[www.facebook.com]. The encouragement from the page itself introducing us with more players and members within the group of ARMA Malaysia, potentially increases the average number of members per session, thus the reintroduction to combined arms session within the operation. This is yet to be implemented as for now, but anticipated in the future operation design making.

A request changes for medical system to be rework has been approved, and now in the stage of testing out whether or not the changes made over the medical system of ACE is appropriate or unsuitable for the type of operation ARMA Malaysia having. MEDEVEC is a new feature, introduced into the recent operation based on the majority request on having an authentic gameplay, especially the medical system.

SPARTAN unit is a multi-purpose, special forces formed by Apex, dedicated to assist the ARMA Malaysia in a special task of gathering information (reconnaissance), assasination high-value-target from distance (sniper), and able to show a leadership quality when the situation needed. Current state of SPARTAN is under hiatus due to previous member considered to be inactive, thus the unit created an event to recruit members from ARMA Malaysia to join the ranks of the elite. Details will be mentioned latter date.

INTEL #002 - Schedules, Mods Changes & TeamSpeak Relocation

Good afternoon,

ARMA Malaysia will have plenty of operations available for all the community to participate in, each with different ethos and characteristic. For starter, Tuesday’s operation will be manhandled by KittyPuncher, simply to perform an experiment in the scripting, mission modules, and also experimenting new features & assets available on the most recent expansion made by the ARMA 3 developers themselves. While on Wednesday is due to availability of Azrink, the chances are mission on that specific day will focus on the vehicle convoy, patrol the area, more on the style of patrolling unit to perform peace-keeping. Thursday is story-driven mission, heavily designed on-the-go Zeus mission by Solidus Jungle, designed to be as much Hollywood theme as possible, and to keep the add-ons as minimal as possible to focus on the gameplay over the aesthetic of other add-ons. By the end of the week, Friday will be the grand main mission compilation all of the features into one operation night.

As per Facebook Group notification, recently the server admin decided to phasing out a large add-ons made by Red Hammer Studio (also known as RHSUSAF, RHSAFRF & RHSGREF) in favour for more client-and-server side optimisation. In near future, we will look any additional add-ons that have the similar features with less file-size for the general optimisation. If it is happened that you read this and knows any add-ons may able to replace RHS Mods, do not hesitate to post a thread over the Steam forums.

Due to the server host of TeamSpeak sharing the same virtual with the game server, we’ve decided to seek for better TeamSpeak hoster in order to prevent the latency and delay. This will be done in October, and new server details will be mentioned later over the Steam and Facebook’s group.
