What is Unsquared?

Unsquared is a side-scrolling 2D platform runner in which the goal is to get as far as you can, as fast as you can. It's also being developed by me, so that's nifty.

Why are you making Unsquared?

I have been dabbling in programming ever since I was introduced to a computer. I don't know, something about writing a bit of fancy text and then having a machine preform an action fascinates me (although I suck at it). I have made a few couple of games before, none of them particularly good. My prior games have been, short, quick affairs. Complete with sloppily-written code and textures ripped straight from Google Images.

Unsquared is different. This time, I am "Doing things properly". All of Unsquared's assets have been designed/written by yours truly, even down to the font. (Although it is running on Unity, so I can't take the credit for absolutely everything). I have already learned a lot from this project, and cannot wait to continue.

Update: The 'Rona Times
I wrote the blurb above this a few years ago when I first started working on this. I never finished the game, and development sat inactive for some time. But this whole global pandemic thing has me bored out of my mind, so Unsquared has resumed active development. At least for the time being.

The whole "Game being made just by me" thing is still true, but I have gotten marginally better at programming since I first released this. Hopefully the game sucks slightly less as a result.

If you have any bug reports or suggestions, I think I set up a discussion thread on here for those. If I didn't just message me.

You can download Unsquared by clicking right here.[drive.google.com] The current version is Release 1.0.1 (Last Updated: 10 June 2020). To install it, just download the entire zip file (button in the top right), unzip it, and run .exe file to play.
