The Inquisition Greets You!

So, Since new players have shown interest in joining this group on a regular basis (and may not be interested in jumping into a campaign, or sticking around for long term)... I want to add a new thing into the campaign, not a direct part of our campaign, but something somewhat linked to it that may be kinda fun for all of us..

Without Further Ado I present: The Off Week "Exoploits" gamemode!

Each week we do not have the campaign session I will be hosting a open to anyone with an interest or who wants to try Dark Heresy, without neccesarily jumping straight into a running campaign.

The Exploits will be a game session that takes place in a periferal event in the game world, either a set-piece that I used in the campaign or, more excitingly, an event that the players set into motion in the campaign that is going to play out 'behind the scenes'!

Sometimes these games will impact my plot, but most of the time they will simply be fun 'one-off' feeling games, each built around a central premise and encouraging player experimentation and creativity.

These games will begin with each character at level 0, and they will level up as the game progresses.

Some of you may be thinking...
"Hey he stole this idea directly form the TTS Deathwatch group!"


I did in fact see something unique in the approach that the Deathwatch group took to the one-off. However.. I don't see this as much stealing as it is reappropriating into a new format. I will defnitely aknowledge the spiritual root. But I want to try experimenting with what can be done with these sorts of things.

Exploits will have general guidelines about what characters/skill sets will be more rewarding for a specific one-off, but characters are not going to be restricted in terms of what sort of character they play.

I intend to have exploits cover a huge range of enviorments and game types.. Among the ones that I can tell everyone about without ruining suprises from the campaign are: A daring raid of a noble's vaults on the planet Thireen, tense battles against hordes of mutants in the underhives of Dubrin, a massive civil war among a feral tribe on Stonefeld, an Administrantium investigation into the ruins of Dubrin and a zero-gravity exploration of a destroyed vessel near Stovidorn.

I also want to maybe try and integrate actions taken by both the players and contact networks. But a lot of these One-offs are going to be totally based on my feelings in the matter... but if anyone wants to run an exploit mission please let me know.
