As a shortening of Ó Loingseacháin Clan Ó Loingsigh one of the 12 tribes of Galway, one of Gaelic and Norman-Anglo bloodlines. Through out the generations to conform was roughly translated to the french Lench and as of today, Lynch. Through immagration, eventually the clan found its way to the New World, America, and has been here ever since.
