ABOUT ODA - 342, TF Viking

Through, Adversity

ODA 342 has had a short but storied history, starting out as the fledgling NATO detachment to the 25th Infantry Division with only a handful of people. This handful of personnel have grown very little over the months since it's inception, but they are, without a doubt, among the best the unit has to offer. As the NATO detachement was dissolved, and the 2nd Platoon was risen from its ashes the unit grew slightly but still remained an sharp fighting force within the larger unit. Being both pivitol in the victory over a rival clan, dominating the brother platoon, and even rising above the unit itself to take key roles within the then 25th ID... NATO, now ODA-342 has proven itself to live up to it's motto. Audeat, poetically meaning... "may he be eager for battle"

As the 25th Infantry Division has changed once again, NATO has once again evolved into ODA 342. A Special Forces ODA tasked with high altitude low opening insertion behind enemy lines to disrupt enemy operations with minimal threat signature. In this new chapter of the Nato Detachment, you can expect only the best from men who have given months of steady devotion to their unit. For our calling, is Through, Adversity.

This is what the plan for the week is: After talking the whole situation over with everyone... we're going to prepare for our FTX or Deployment mission on Friday over the course of the week. Just like real operations. So on Monday (today), we're going to practice HAHO'ing into an Area under the cover of darkness. Tomorrow, we're going to go over CSE Medial with Johan being that no one has used medical at all. Wednesday, we figured we'd brush up on our CQB so that on Thursday we can break out into shops and go over loadouts and a plan of action. Possibly practice it, and then boom. Friday we deploy. C-130 flying at high altitude will drop us off roughly 7-8km from our target area at which point we will fly ourselves into the Landing Zone to capture some Intelligence on the ground that will eventually lead to a Kill HVT mission or a capture mission.
